A Great man died today. He will be missed. But there have been reports from the Italian media that the Pope has passed on. The story is still breaking and they are waiting for official word form close aids to the Pope

i just saw on city pulse 24 that the italian press have reported the popes ecg has flatlined no word from the vatican as of yet. so it may be true.

There is NO CONFIRMATION of this. Only Italian Media is reporting this first hand.

Every network I have checked still lists his condition as grave. One also stated there was one unconfirmed report of the death.

Perhaps this is similar to the Terrir died story posted by CBS yesterday early in the day yet turned out to be sent out by accident

I Saw it on cnn international. But i think Italian news just retracted their statement

You know how news agencies are. Everyone wants to be first so CNN ran with an unsubstantiated report that he had died so they could be the ones that broke the story to the world. CNN sucks.

Actually...

Italian media were the first to report that JPII had died. It was expected that this is how the news would be broken.
