Hundreds of thousands of infected chickens were burned and buried from a few chicken farms in Seoul, South Korea. The chickens were killed to prevent the outbreak of the bird flu from spreading. They said it was not passed on to any humans. There were reports earlier this month that the bird flu had broke out in North and South Korea. Plans to import chickens from those areas have been delayed.

North Korea acknowledged an outbreak of bird flu for the first time, saying Sunday that hundreds of thousands of chickens were killed to prevent its spread, and the disease was not passed on to humans. The outbreaks occurred at a "few chicken farms," and "hundreds of thousands of infected chickens" were burned before burial, the North's official Korean Central News Agency reported. The short report said no breeders who work at the farms were known to have been infected.

More reports of infected chickens with the bird flu. The fear is that it will mutate and infect humans. For now we are safe but will there soon be a epidemic of the deadly bird flu spreading around the world? There have been reports of two human to human cases where the bird flu was transmitted between humans. Is this the mutation that they feared?

This bird flu may end up killing millions of people if it gets out of control.
