The EU needs to make a choice....China or America.
I really would like to say something about everything else you said, but really have to go to bed now. Only this: I don't think there's much of a choice for all of us. China is the third-biggest nuclear power already since a very long time. The technology may be old and Russian, but that doesn't make it any less dangerous. In my view, there is (politically) only one solution: not to p. them off and try to be most diplomatic. To try to fight them would be suicide, new wepons or not. We have to avoid a new cold war and, of course, a hot war with the Chinese. So we (of course not we but our representatives) have to think real hard this time - unlike they do normally, to avoid a planetary crisis of unseen dimensions. Best would be America too would declare China as an untouchable political entity (of whatever kind) and we both should never try to push them in any direction we want, but try to draw them back if they are going too far - carefully. There are progressive people in China too, much more spiritual as in the West anyway, and if the time is right, they will overcome the today's system there. No need to intervene, you only reach the opposite. It's a fault of Western thinking: we want everything now. But history takes time. And to be honest with you: I hate my people doing this - trying to sell weapons to the Chinese, mostly because of the disobedience of human rights over there and because of the Chinese occupation of Tibet. But as I said some pages before, it's all about business, and our politicians are puppets of the industry like anywhere else. So normal people have to think for themselves. We as humans - country lovers or not - should always consider human life as the most valuable thing in the world, therefore we should act careful not to hurt or even kill other people. If this is recognized one day by every country and every belief in the world, this planet would be a better place. In every day life, we can do something, not change world politics maybe, but try to live more peacefully and make our own decisions. After all, this is the Christian way and normally the way of any other religion, even Islam, though you can't see it clearly today. But - other topic and I really have to go now.
