Traditionally , ONLY Criminals Wear Masks . And before you Mention the " Lone Ranger " and the Scarlet Pimpernel , They were Masked for Good Intentions in Hiding their True Identity .

The masked vs. the maskless, the vaxxed vs the vaxxless, the rhetoric is ramping up and the battle lines are being drawn. Someone somewhere found a perfect answer to the conundrum: how will one American be able to distinguish a friend from foe? We already know Antifa has been sporting the face mask for some time; let’s make the mask the new regalia for one side, and bareface for the other.

Now we can easily spot the enemy.

I’m trying to figure out some conspicuous and ridiculous third option to display my refusal to adhere to either side. Any suggestions, friends?

Spotting the enemy is super easy, barely an inconvenience, always has been.

If you do not think like me.

If you do not agree with me.

If you do not do things the way I do them.

If you are not me.

Then clearly you are the enemy.

Even easier way to tell is if you have ever been a politician or government official then chances are good you're the enemy.

Thought I'd add some laugh therapy for our poor humorless friends. If this leaves you unmoved, it's possible you're suffering long-term covid related loss of senses.

Enjoy your day, friends!

I love most people. Some I have an immediate distaste for, but that's unusual.

I think it has something to do with intention, boundaries, respect, love. Got those and we're good. Assuming, presumptuous types are low on my list of enjoyable humans, though.

I tend to like very few. I have even LESS tolerance for people who blindly follow (religion, a cult, a political party) and I am seeing TONS of that here. Does make me an enemy? I don't know....but to the OP I will not base my dislike of people on mask wearing when there are SO many other reasons NOT to like them.

Selfishness and dogged belief in the superiority of our own worldview is a very difficult tendency to overcome. I have a lot of compassion for our state here, though, and find humanity (all of us) incredibly complex and beautiful as well.

But I understand where you're coming from!

Easily spot what enemy? Your neighbor, your father/mother/sister/brother/son/daughter? People with ZERO political affiliations just wanting to follow rules?
People who have had covid and are frightened to get it again?

Nurse/Healthcare workers/Doctors?

Which enemies do you speak of?

You say American like you live here, yet suddenly see those around you as the enemy and spreading more fear and disinformation with that! Telling people to not trust and care for their community? Sounds like a Russian troll trying to spread distrust if I ever heard one!

Ok Comrade!

Lol, we're an insidious bunch (Dostoevsky fans).

Do you like his work too? I always get excited when I meet a fellow Russian lit aficionado--Russian authors are definitely among my favorites. Dostoevsky, Chekhov, Pasternak, and Nabokov are particularly good for me.
