Yes, thats true. Eitherway, you're catching a beating. If its from a bunch of them, then it becomes a stomping. A difference, to be sure.I'd still wager that in most cases they'll move onto someone that can't or doesn't fight back, orif not then if you've been stomped several times it'll force an issue with the police and school administration.

I don't know anyone who's ever been better off from running away. The more succesful one's have just gotten down to work, gotten their buds or smeared vaseline on their faces (well, the girls do that) and just flat out jump right into it. And thts in 'questionable' neighbhorhoods. You're almost allways better off doing that. And as for groups jumping in? Well, you need to get some of your own buds to represent, to at least prevent the other side from jumping in. And if it becomes an all out melee? Well, better than being stomped as a lonely coward.

Your not chanceing defeat with a gang that works like that, its certain...
You would be suprised how....whats the word.....where they just keep comeing for NO reason...

Get back to us when you have actual cultural diversity, a former slave population, and two completely different languages, spread out over three hundred million people. And welsh doesn't count as another language. No one is scared of roving gangs of welshmen.

gaahhhhh!!! i just don't get how anyone other than what hitler pictured as being ideal (ie; blonde hair, blue eyes) would ever think so highly of him in any way. it doesn't make sense.

Excuse me but yes it does.Granted not as popular as English (yet) go to Wales and read some traffic signs as both Languauges are catered for.

Yeah I agree, I spent a week with two welsh lads on BTEC course and by god the language was really amazeing, they just slipped in and out of english no bother...dammed good education that I say..

Hitler was a brave and brilliant individual, but I definitly do NOT condone all of his actions.

Banning guns is NOT gonna do it, there will always be guns since they are so incredibly easy to produce, I could personally make a SMG quite easilly if I wanted to, and a muzzle-loader even easier, ammo is a bit harder to produce however. (note that I would NEVER make an illegal firearm)

Also explosives are VERY easilly made, esspecially vertilizer bombs, if a kid with such intent wanted to, he/she could just make a large bomb with maybe some nails or other nasty shrapernal.

Killers will always find ways to kill, no matter what you do, no matter what you ban...Sure guns are effective at it, but you have to deal with people who are CAPABLE of using a gun in such a way.

Holland has all guns restricted to use ONLY on a firing range or hunting, use outside these organizations is not legally allowed, not even for self-defense.

STILL we have an EXTREME amount of illegal firearms, and by far they out-number the legal firearms in this country, esspecially under the minorities such as the muslim people and people from South America and Africa.

Note that Theo van Gogh AND Pim Fortuin both were shot by an illegal firearm, and one was a friggin' left-wing activist.

You know what I think would be best? have ARMED SECURITY GUARDS on high schools, arm them with MP-5 sub machineguns for all I care as deterent...that's how you stop school shootings, or atleast limit them, a shooter would most likely try to take out the guards first, and in most cases the shooter will be outgunned.

Ok i got to page eleven, & then more pages keep adding up. I went to 14 then hopped to here. I just wanna put my veiw on this. The kid went through hell, & had the wrong role model....Hitler(omg he's a Fin nut)...all the signs were there just noone had the decrypter. Things could have been done & they were'nt which in anycase they usually never are these days. This probably will not be the last incident to cause tragedy which sadens me since this country has to many issues that are not being addressed & delt with(cuz Fin idiot ppl in position of power). My deepest condolences to those victims & the families of the victims. Personally i would love to spit on this kids corpse....sorry if that offended you, i dont know why it would, & i don't care if it does. The kid was a coward for not being able to deal with life....i've had my bs & have almost died b4 due to glass cuting my left arm when i was shutting a door, its quite a large scar(going the whole length of my forearm ina j & an L on my wrist)& i was pale white for years because of blood loss. But even after that i was Fed with at school & had some issues thought about suicide but rendered it a stupid thing because ive alrdy been there done that & my belief if u kill urself you're reincarnated to the same life same situations same ish.(ever here the saying a coward dies a thousand deaths a soldier dies but once? he should of stuck his chest out & delt with ish, he's a no good coward.)

Now that I've removed myself from a week-long painting frenzy, I'm just finally seeing this at almost 3am, nearly a week after the fact. Disturbing. Quite disturbing, to say the least.

It does make one wonder about some of the thoughts that go through the mind of those who frequent this site. This kid registered to join ATS about a month after I did. Scary to consider that he's been here that long.

How much do we really know about the people here? It can be tough to know about a person unless you're engaged in conversations with them on a regular basis. While I'm happy to be part of the larger ATS community, there are only two people I've met here that I have contact with outside the site -- people I actually call friends, rather than acquaintances.

This does make one wonder though. A bit chilling to know that this happened, an event carried out by one of our own, so to speak, which so very much flies in the face of everything most of us believe in.

A sad day indeed. May we never have to see this happen within our ranks again.

You`ve added some points here that back up the notion that banning guns would help to stop this type of random killing.Guns are not easy to make unless you have the right tools,metals,knowledge and ability.Hell from what you are saying l could perform brain surgery all l need is some drugs,blood,instruments and a medical book.Somethings are not as easy as that for everybody.
Banning guns would take the instant access away,this and other shooters use firearms not because of there want to kill,its due to the Psycological factores that shooting people gives them.The power over them, seeing people running scared and you have the ability in an instance to take life away from whoever you choose,no other form of killing gives the person that feeling or ability.Arming security guards would just change the tactics used from say an assult rifle to a snipers rifle or going to a shopping mall.Explosives haven`t been used in this way probably because of the planning and preperation involved.Shooters tend to act very randomly and quickly there mentality changes very quickly one minute up and average joe blogs next the thoughts can consume them into thoughts of violence followed by guilt.They mentaly are not capable in certain conditions to plan anything over a time period.Guns tick all the right criteria.You have extreme amounts of firearms it is supprising that this hasn`t happened more frequently,mixed with research just released on the long term effects that cannabis can cause severe mental health problems and could be a cause of severe psychosis at least in Holland if this reasearch is found to be accurate they have no access to guns,unlike you guys in America who may well have already pressed the self destruct button years ago now it is only time standing in the way.

I am just curious as to why the media emphasized the words NEO-NAZI when they talk about him visiting a Neo-Nazi Libertarian Green website.....Why not emphasize the Libertarian or Green of that phrase? Republicans should be having a field day with this...you read his posts, he did not believe in the white supremecy(sp) aspect of it, just the social part of it. He was a socialist democrat that went bonkers.

Bad omen: I saw his post on a white owl bad omen.....what about a grey fox that walks up to you and dies? That happened last night in my backyard. I was outside and a grey fox comes out of the woods walking slowly with his head down.....plops down in front of me and dies a few hours later.(he was rabid, but was so far gone when he walked up that he was prob oblivious to me). This doesn'tmean I should buy a trenchcoat does it? And why do they pick the trenchcoats to forever queer up?

Firearms are SUPRISINGLY easy to make...you can buy books on how to make a gun from house hold materials, doesn't need a brain surgion.

Zipguns are also a widely used weapon in the UK, even simpler homemade firearms.

The main culprit in these shootings is the adverse affects on childeren taking anti-depressants, my wife when she was about 18 attempted suicide and she was on a large ammount of Effexor XR.

For those of you who knew him and conversed with him here....there is nothing you could have done...no way you could have known how troubled and confused he was. So please don't feel guilty...it is done. From the searches I have done, many here gave him words of encouragement and offered their friendship. That's the best anyone could have done, really.

A very tragic thing that no one really foreseen. Let's just send our prayers out to all the families involved.

Yes, People Really Do Bad Things

As intriguing as it may be to review Weise's posts knowing of his fate, it is even more intriguing to me to skim through this thread and read the reactions of his fellow members.

Very intriguing, indeed.

It is easy to confuse the Internet with television, to think that it is an entertainment medium with all the constraints and safeguards that go along with it.

But the Internet is no such thing. Real people, people just like you and me, use the Internet and contribute to it.

And real people also murder, rape, steal, stalk, slander, vandalize, conspire and do all sorts of nasty things to one another.

Day in and day out, people do evil things all the time.

Not An Endangered Species

Jeff Weise was just another of many. There are plenty more like him in this world, and plenty more like him right here on ATS.

You, reading this right now, may be one of them.

You might not think of yourself that way, as evil, or you might revel in it. You might think you have been wronged, a victim of cosmic injustice, and that it's about time you did something to change that.

You might think everyone is out to get you, or that George Bush is the Devil, or that the newscasters are talking directly to you.

Maybe you are convinced that aliens are trying to control your mind, or that the only way to solve your nation's political problems is through violent revolution.

The truth is, you could be just about anybody.

It is also the truth to recognize that you are unique. There is no one else identical to you, anywhere, there never has been, and never will be again.

At the same time, none of us is really all that different. Just because you're unique doesn't mean you're special.

We are all of us far more alike than any of us realizes.

The Point Of All This

People like our fellow ATS member Jeff Weise remind us that evil is not something that exists only in fiction, or news stories that often read like fiction.

Bad things happen every day. Right now, within a mile of where you live, somebody is probably doing something bad to someone else. Evil is everywhere.

And the people who do evil are just like you and me.

Jeff Weise embraced darkness and was consumed by it. As horrible as the things he did to those around him were, what he did to himself was much, much worse.

I grieve for those he killed and those he wounded, both physically and emotionally. But I grieve even more for him, because he is now lost in darkness and torment far beyond anything a gun can do to a person.

The question for we who are witnesses to his fall is this:

Will we learn from his example, or follow it?

Choose wisely.
