NEWS: N. Korea: We've Built More Nukes

Tensions on the Korean Peninsula are once again escalating due to a joint US - South Korean Military exercise underway since Saturday. Nth Korean intelligence is describing the exercises as a platform to launch a surprise, pre-emptive attack on Nth Korean interests. In light of these allegations DPRK (Nth Korea) have announced that additional nuclear weapons have been made ready.



More Sabre-rattling from Crazy Kim? One thing I think is for sure; if South Korea and the US DO decide to use the exercises to launch a "shafty", Crazy Kim will not hesitate to "light the fire"...

In my opinion this makes evident the fact that the US is basically at a stalemate in regards to using force in dealing with DPRK. The problem is further compounded by the fact that Kim is crazy and impossible to deal with on a diplomatic level. What does this leave in terms of a resolution to the continuing mess that is the Korean Peninsula? I don't know - do you?

The extent of North Korea's nuclear capability is not widely known as its supposed devices have not been tested.

The above may or may not be the case as a MASSIVE explosion was detected in North Korea a last year. The resulting "mushroom-shaped" smoke cloud was estimated at between 2 and 2 1/2 miles wide (3.5 to 4 km). Suspicious...

I don't believe any radiation was detetected from it though. I'm sure if there was a nuclear explosion, we'd be able to detect atleast some sort of signature.

Looks like North korea is trying to suck the US into a war, just look at the fact...they keep claiming they have more and more nukes. Crazy Kim is loosing the plot.

And if such radiation was detected and announced to the world, we would have been playing Kim's game....

If it was a nuclear explosion, and i think it is very possible it was, Kim was trying to show to the world that he had working nuclear devices. Playing along with Kim's game, would only have served his intentions on doing this. At least that's my opinion, but I could be wrong.

So basically we've got a known lunatic in control of nuclear weapons, waiting for an excuse to set them off. Instead of not feeding his paranoia, we figure it's a good time to practise war games with his enemy that borders his country.

They could be writing a lot of history books about this one day, lets hope we're still around to read them.

Still, even if he does have them, and the US did invade, I doubt those birds would ever reach the sky...

The big problem with NK remains ticking off China by a US led invasion or ousting of Kim.

So, is it better to allow the "known lunatic" to continue to use coercion against the world to obtain what he wants?.... which in part includes reuniting South Korea with the north....

i see what you mean,
North Korea may attack troops during the war games on his country's board. This is basically playing with fire, soon someone will get burnt.

i'm not believing anything till i see a real explosion, seizmographs to back it up and lots of communist propaganda claiming the scientific ingenuity of the people for this achievement to defend socialism!

I do not think Kim is crazy enough for a pre-emptive strike. I think he wants something and this is his way of getting world attention. Blackmail to make the problem go away.

I also beleive that last years mushroom cloud was the proof that he had offered the US and World negotiators...

His background would indicate that he was trying To deal behind the scenes, so that whatever concessions were made, would seem to his people like it was his winning personality that won them...

There must be a lot of ways to handle a situation like this. I'm sure there's a room full of highly paid people thinking about it right now that are much smarter than me, but I do know if you back a rabid dog into a corner you're gonna get bit.

mythatsabigprobe these exercises are nothing new, they've been going on for decades, we arent backing north korea into any corner, they are just making excuses for building nukes, dont fall for their lies so easily.

Exactly. He is like a spoiled kid who is throwing a temper tantrum. It is best to ignore him yet be prepared for anything at the same time. Just like dealing with a two year old child kicking and screaming.

Dear all,

The US is not likely to try and take on the NKs since they could not do it easily.

The political will does not exist for the casualties that would result in a 2nd Korean War.
