So I've been having a lot of work done on my house lately.

Last week I had a company here hardscaping my front porch and walkway with cobblestone pavers...I'm spending a good chunk of change for this.

The two gentlemen doing the work on the front porch were of the South-of-the-Border persuasion and seemed not to speak much (if any) English...as I would offer them bottled water while they were working on the porch and they didn't seem to understand me.

Anyhow...they finished the job and left.

Last night, my wife was showing our daughter-in-law how our new Ring doorbell video worked...and a video from the front porch showed these two gentlemen "working" on the porch stones....talking and laughing...in SPANISH.

My wife to daughter: "Oh, these are just the guys doing the porch work last week."

Daughter to wife: "Do you realize what they're saying?" (She speaks fluent Spanish).

Wife: "No...what?"

Daughter translates:

Guy ONE says: "We're not doing this right."
Guy TWO says: "Don't worry...these Gringos are ignorant...they won't know the difference."

Guy ONE and TWO: "HAHAHAHAHA...."

We're showing the company's owner the video today.

These racist aholes are going to come back and do the job right.

This is your problem right here, I always have a six of Modelo on hand for just such a scenario.

Then they can at least blame all the construction issues on being borracho en cerveza.

This is why I run as much stuff as possible through my Home Depot card, the amount of screw ups in my kitchen cost the company doing the work tens of thousands to remedy. If it was just Julio's Construccion I'd be SOL.

So they were right. That's ok. When they come back tell em "la entrepierna de tu madre huele a pescado"

And then go inside.

This company owner will make it right...or make it free.
I've given him tens of thousands of dollars of business over the years.

True, but how many Americans want to improperly lay cobblestone walkways for low wages?

Well I guess if you want something done right you have to do it yourself.

What?

Seems he hired a business, and the people that work for that business did this.

So it is on the business to back the work.

They probably already know that.

I would get the owner on the phone and confront them about it, unless one of them is the owner, you might get a big discount on the job.

Looks like you haven't been around construction crews.... you're lucky you didn't catch any remarks on your family, just check the work and if something is wrong ask the contractor to fix it...

Beers are for closers. Of course, the smart ones bring their own because the kindness of strangers is unreliable.

It's either that or I give them all the steak knives.
