Because they're billionaires who own an enormous amount of land in the U.K. ? And all of the swans.

We had a couple of Swan Families would set up camp in the dock behind the Office every year. Build nest lay eggs , etc etc.
One time Her Maj's Royal Navy parked up a few ships for a week and managed to contaminate the dock with lord knows what pumped into the water.
They Cygnets learning to swim drowned as the were covered in the gunk sadly.
Environmental Health "official" rocked up and said that as its the "Royal" Navy and the Queen owns the Swans they had no recourse.
Pathetic if you ask me.

Anyway, I wonder how many other people died today...or any other day for thaty matter. I just don't care about the Prince. Sorry, not sorry.

Going to miss this guy, one of the best (if not the best) non-pc comedians ever.

He was the KING of one-liners and saying the funniest things at the most inappropriate moments.

"British women can't cook," he told the Scottish Womens' Institute in 1961.

"You are a woman, aren't you?" he said to a Kenyan woman, who was presenting him with a small gift in 1984.

"If you stay here much longer you will all be slitty-eyed," the Prince told British exchange students who lived in Xian in 1986.

"Aren't most of you descended from pirates?," he enquired to an islander while in the Cayman Islands in 1994.

My personal favourites

"Do you still throw spears at each other?" he asked a group of Indigenous Australians in 2002, while on a visit to Australia with the Queen.

"So who's on drugs here?... He looks as if he's on drugs," he said of a 14-year-old boy while at a Bangladeshi youth club in 2002.

There are LOTS more gaffes and quotes he made, fortunately caught on camera.

Who knows what skeletons he had and how many secrets he took to his grave. Imagine being naive enough to think someone in his high position will be a genuine and decent human being.
