Yes. There were NO firearms brandished or used inside the building at the time.

So.

She was murdered.

She was given a lawful order which she chose to ignore. You've see how the cops are. They will kill you for any reason.

If this bothers you. Maybe you should be seeking police reform. Just like minorities seek police reform.

Michael Byrd, the U.S. Capitol Police lieutenant who shot and killed Ashli Babbitt during the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, is the same officer who left his gun unattended in a Capitol bathroom in 2019.

Capitol Police found Byrd’s Glock 22 in a Capitol Visitor Center complex bathroom in February 2019 “during a routine security sweep.” At the time, Byrd was the Capitol Police commander of the House Chambers and was scheduled for work the next two days after the incident. The police department launched an investigation into Byrd’s negligence, but he was eventually allowed to stay on the force.
thefederalist.com...

It’s not a police reform problem, it’s a Byrd problem.
He never should have been there.
He never should have have fired blindly at that unarmed lady, who had police right behind her anyway.
They just keep covering up for that incompetent.
It’s like foxes guarding the henhouse.
Then a hen goes missing and you ask the fox to investigate.

Why isn't Antifa being locked up for using bear spray?
Ask any law enforcement officer in Portland or Seattle how many time they were sprayed with it by those clowns and BLM.
I am fine with people being arrested for bad behavior, but apply the law EQUALLY.

They were throwing frozen bottles of water, bottles full of piss and chemicals, firing industrial-level fireworks at the police, using strong lasers to blind, using sticks and clubs...etc Burned and looted as they went too, but that is mostly peaceful and OK.

Really?

A lawless mob of people are breaking into a secure area and you want them to use a taser?

Why were there two armed cops in the crowd maybe a few feet behind her walking and talking with them in a normal way as the crowd slowly flowed through the hallways? They didn't draw their guns and just walked and talked...

Everything that you said there is a police reform problem.

They keep hiring these asshats that shouldn't be employed as officers.

If we forced the cops to be licensed, like we license doctors, nurses, hairdressers etc..., we wouldn't have these problems.
We could actually track if they screw up and take away their license to be cops.

You're asking the wrong person.

I wasn't there.

Incompetence maybe?

That was a rhetorical question. The answer is there were 3 different parts to Jan 6.

1. Peaceful rally
2. Violent protest outside the Capital (not WOKE liberal level of violence, but still violent)
3. Non-violent inside the Capital after the initial transition from outside to in.

In the third part after the initial surge into the Capital, the mood changed and people became more aware as to where they were. They became more tourist of the event and followed the directions of the guards, guide ropes, taking selfies etc. This is why the guards just followed people around. The reason why the QAnon Shaman was finally released is because the guards let him into the chambers and just followed him around.

We can all agree some bad actors in the mass of people did stupid things and should be charged for what they did, but the vast majority were just there for the moment with zero intent to do anything.

So the answer to the question is the guards did not feel threatened to do anything but follow and talk to people other than the one guard who decided to shoot an unarmed small female.

Can you imagine if a white Capital Officer had shot a BLM protestor? DC would have burned to the ground.

Being a cop is not an easy job... Many of the so-called bad incidents happen in bad areas where bad people live and the cops need to deal with dozens of them daily. Also, as a doctor you are not making decisions in less than a second as to where the doctor may die or someone else unneeded if that split-second decision isn't right every time.

We can just get rid of them and everyone is on their own... As to hiring...its not like people are waiting in line to be police officers...Many places are way undermanned and just cannot find people to work a dangerous job for 60 to 80k...

Guard? U.S. Capital Police Officer.

Department of Justice released of notice of their closing of investigation.

www.justice.gov...

Of course the officer does not face any consequences.

It's the same ol story. Cop kills someone. Nothing happens to the cop. When it's a minority person that dies. They deserved it. But when it's some white person. The cops a murderer. Why isn't the cop being prosecuted.

Things need to change all around.

A few years back a group of angry liberal protesters broke into the capital and all was good. Here is a recent one inside the Capital about Israel and Gaza. You could almost call it Jan 6 by the looks, Did anyone see much news on it?

Ohhhhhhhhhhh. Because it's not an easy job that's an excuse?

If you can legally execute people. You should be licensed. And that license should be able to be revoked if you mess up.

You can't wide-brush this and need to look at each situation. This is a huge BS statement. Around 220 to 240 Blacks are killed by police and if that was weighed against the population percentage where 420 Whites are shot then Blacks should be around 85 killed, but when you take into account Blacks do 50%+ of murders being only 13% of the population that plays heavily into it all.

You sure have cop issues...They are licensed and even carry a badge to identify themselves. What do you mean by licensed anyways?

So looking up the numbers 44% of Whites killed by Cops in 2022 were unarmed while only 25% of Blacks. We also need to look at what they were doing too.

No Police Officers were killed that day or after 1/6 based on actions on 1/6. How do I know this?

Because if it was true the US DOJ would have charged Donald Trump with invol manslaughter by now. I know it. You know it. It is the same reason you have not seen one charge of insurrection criminally from 1/6.

It would never hold up in a real court or to appeal.

Let's look at crime stats. This is from 2016 but probably still valid.

ucr.fbi.gov...

Murders and nonnegligent manslaughter White: 4.192, Black: 4,935. 52% vs 42%. A 10% difference?

But since you bring this up. What is the reason for this? Why are the stats higher for minorities? What can we do different as a country to change things?

For me it's how we treat minorities in this country. We should be focusing on educating people more. It's been proven that the more educated you are the less crime you commit. We need to rethink things.

You need to think about only 13% is doing 52% and 65% of the population is doing 42%, see the issue?

lol, not sure your question. It is higher because Blacks are killing more??? Why is only 13% of the population doing 52% of the murders?

How much is due to the dysfunctional beliefs that made violences and crime a common social norm within their culture today. 70% single mothers doesn’t help either. Since the 60s things have only gotten worst while society has evolved.
