I've had an email from Elon Musk saying that star link Internet is available in my area if I want it lol
Rubbish speeds though.

As for 5g phones I have one (not picked for that reason) and a tower a quarter mile from me.

I keep it on 4g only in case, its lightening fast already.

Besides I tried the 5g and it only works (connects) if I'm within 100m of the tower soo... Basically they can stick it!

It amazes me that in some countries people cannot stream without glitches.

I’m holding out for a brain chip implant so I don’t even need a phone, just think with some connected digital contact lenses I’ll be able to navigate the menus just using my eye movements and blinking. I’ll also be able to augment my reality at the same time and not have to interact with anyone in real life anymore...

As it will be monitoring 24/7 it will know all about me and my habits/lifestyle so I won’t need to worry about things like ordering grocery’s, upgrading my smart kettle, or choosing my virtual friends/girlfriend in fact I won’t have to make any decisions anymore or be distracted by silly things like thinking.

My only concern is I might unwittingly be part of some planned obsolescence program.

I'd look it up but I'm in a bad mood tonight. Is it rootable?

Good question - I don't know yet.

I'll let you know once I poke around a little.

I am loving 5G myself, although, like you, more for streaming than for "telephone" coverage. Kodi is perfect with 5G, no drop in signal or buffering issues.
