It appears that the Democrats have decided to attempt to ram through a bill that will lock in their power for decades to come, their first act in fact. If you think mail in voting was a scam with the "covid crisis", wait until they push it as law in all 50 states by coercing the states with federal money to either comply or not receive federal funds. Even the ACLU has issues with it for suppressing free speech and objections.

This will lock them into a majority, possibly forever.

HR 1

How H.R. 1 allows Democrats to threaten democracy

www.washingtontimes.com...

At the top on the Democrats’ priority list is not raising the minimum wage, gutting the military or forced health care for all. Nope. Their first priority is rigging elections. So, if you thought the 2020 election season was a nightmare, then you are really not going to approve of the Democratic plan to turn that debacle into a never-ending reality.

The title of H.R. 1, dubbed “For the People Act” (the Senate companion measure is S. 949.) reminds one of the Orwellian double speak, “War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery.” It ought to be called, “For the Democrats Act.”

H.R. 1 a monster initially coming in at 622 pages when first introduced — would remake the American political system to ensure “progressive” victories for years to come.

Democrats Have Released a Roadmap to One-Party Rule

www.realclearpolitics.com...

The legislation also allows third parties to collect ballots from an unlimited number of absentee voters and submit them through ballot drop boxes, dramatically increasing the risk that vulnerable Americans could be bullied, bribed, or blackmailed for their votes without the protection of election workers.

Under the rules outlined in HR 1, election observers wouldn’t even be able to challenge the legitimacy of ballots without written documentation, making it virtually impossible to document or detect election irregularities.

Nothing in this legislation could plausibly be interpreted as a means of restoring public confidence in our elections — but the reforms establish a clear roadmap to one-party rule.

H.R. 1 Is For The Politicians, Not The People

thehill.com...

It’s a bill that lines the pockets of every politician by publicly funding campaigns, federalizes our election system, and restricts your First Amendment right protected by the U.S. Constitution – a strong point of opposition from the ACLU. That’s not a bill for the people, that’s a bill for the politicians.

Violating your First Amendment rights isn’t “for the people.” The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), an organization typically in support of the policies advanced by the Democratic Party, opposes this bill because of the many provisions in H.R. 1 that would “unconstitutionally impinge on the free speech rights of American citizens and public interest organizations. They will have the effect of harming our public discourse by silencing necessary voices that would otherwise speak out about the public issues of the day.”

Democrats introduce bill that will destroy America With One Swipe…

THE BIG ONE – NATIONWIDE VOTE BY MAIL, BAN ON BALLOT PROTECTION MEASURES, LEGALIZED LIMITLESS BALLOT HARVESTING.

Internet-only registration with electronic signature submission.

Banning the requirement to provide a full SSN for voter registration.

Nationwide ‘Motor Voter’ registration. -Note that motor voter registration is how thousands of illegal became registered voters in California and Nevada.

Banning voter ID

16 year olds required to be registered to vote.

Prohibiting attempts to clean voter rolls of non-residents.

Forming a commission to effectively freeze anyone who says that the election was rigged

SHOCKING: The Democrats’ First Bill of 2021 Is to Lock In Fraudulent Election Maneuvers and Steal Elections in Perpetuity

www.thegatewaypundit.com...

Democrats introduce their first bill in the House: H.R.1 – The bill that will destroy America. Nationwide mail-in voting, banning restrictions on ballot harvesting, banning voter ID, criminal voters, DC Statehood roadwork, it’s all in here.

ACLU blasts Democrats' election bill as unconstitutional

www.washingtontimes.com...

The American Civil Liberties Union dealt a blow Monday to Democrats’ new election overhaul legislation, saying the bill does too much damage to the First Amendment and the storied rights group cannot support it.

ACLU officials said they support parts of the bill, such as making it easier to register to vote, but said the legislation attempts to control even the mere mention of a politician, which goes too far.

“They will have the effect of harming our public discourse by silencing necessary voices that would otherwise speak out about the public issues of the day,” the ACLU’s national political director and senior legislative counsel wrote in a 13-page letter announcing opposition.

You know it is really bad when the ACLU says Democrats have gone to far to try and silence any opposition.

It says a lot about the people who propose such measures. Clearly they have no faith in their ability to win legitimately and no interest in serving the people.

Ballot harvesting as conducted in America is straight fraud and would be considered such in almost every other country with free elections.

Most other countries recognise that mail voting is highly suspect to fraud and therefore limit it to those without alternative. Third world countries with rigged elections are huge fans of mail voting though.

Making it easier to register (not hard to begin with) and REDUCING ballot security is just more fraud enabling. I lived in the UK for many years and to vote they sent you this card you had to show the poll workers and they crossed your name off a list. A simple form of voter ID that would no doubt be dismissed as racist by the DNC.

Not to mention the widespread use of voting machines. The only other country with such proliferation of machines is Venezeula, and we all know how fair their elections are. Weird how most other functional democratic systems get by just fine with pen and paper. Oddly enough many countries have trialed machines and strangely they are fraught with allegations of fraud and general unreliability. Imagine that.

America’s most recent election resemble a third world dictatorship more than they do the “Land of the Free”

The DNC should be careful though. America has been around for hundreds of years as a relatively free and democratic country, most dictatorships with such deep levels of corruption as America barely last 30 (barring a popular strongman, and i don’t think the DNC are the strongman type).

America’s century-long shadow oligarchy has survived by means of the illusion of democracy. Remove the illusion, i doubt it would last too long.

(c) Confidentiality Of Information.—In preparing and submitting a report under this section, the chief State election official shall ensure that no information regarding the identification of any individual is revealed.

Sounds super transparent..... also, the rest of that bill is nefarious as hell.. and only leads to it being more difficult to prove fraud.

Why not? they go away with it, just as well cash out on their victory and make it permanent.

Does HR1 need a simple majority in the House and the Senate, in order to pass and head to Biden's desk?

Graduating from beer to Bourbon. Thanks a lot OP.

I guess if this passes, she's not America anymore. They'll have to keep the Troops deployed to DC indefinitely.

That was put together in March of 2019. Seems like they were jumping right on the COVID crisis and anticipating the 2020 elections with that one, like it was part of a longer game plan that was in the works for awhile.

That one has me believing even more that the election was rigged by the Democrats, not that I needed any convincing.

Why are elections so hard to grasp for Americans? I don't get this #. It's like a simple straightforward process.

Provide id when registering to vote
Show up to polling station with registration card or id
Vote with pen and paper
Put paper in ballot box
Objective third party counts votes under observation

This is how we do # up in Canada, we've had an average 70% ish voter turnout since 1867. Us voter turnout averages in the 50% region for federal elections. Explain again how voter id, in person voting and non-machine voting is racist and disenfranchises voters?

You know the answer to that question.

We cannot have a fair, monitored, clean election that can be audited, observed, validated, and verified because there are "interests" that do not want it that way.

Because it "disenfranchises" Democratic voters.

The dead ones.

The illegal alien ones.

And specifically the ones paid by the DNC to churn out a bunch of ballots and check the "Democrat" boxes.

After all, how do you expect Democrats to win anything on a political platform of "If you work, we want all of your $$ to pay for our cheating".

Rigging the election is expensive!

It isn't FAIR!!!

You have been reported and given a -2000 on your social credit score.

Just obey your friendly all-knowing government.

OBEY!

The main thing driving this corruption now is that the most wicked and evil minded, criminally minded politicians are in charge and on the payroll of even more wicked and evil people, who are driving these things in a big big way.
It will take an act of God to see it crushed, and that is going to happen. History proves it.

The most recent polling data from December 2020 puts the approval rating of the United States Congress at 15 percent, the lowest approval rating since December 2019.

Congressional approval
Congressional approval, particularly over the past few years, has not been high. Americans tend to see Congress as a group of ineffectual politicians who are out of touch with their constituents. Despite the current Congress having the largest number of women and being the most diverse Congress in American history, very little has been done to improve the opinion of Americans regarding the legislative branch.

meanwhile the tactics seem to be moving onto a bad path of censorship - rewriting of history and worse

Something as blatant as this should open the eyes of every democrat out there who doesn't hold a political position. The problem, however, is that the democrats couldn't do this without first dividing this country and making their base hate the other side bad enough to shrug and say "oh well".

Divide & Conquer, something they kept trying to tell us that our party would do.

Well, if there are any normal democrats out there, here's your sign.

The people get it.

The answer is that the politicians want power, and this is how they grab it and keep it. People be damned.

The question is what the people will end up doing about it when it all gets shoved through, and that should frighten everyone. We know it frightens them because they've got the Capitol occupied by armed troops with no end of mission in sight.
