The thing is, this actually proves nothing. It's all just stories and personal experiences which can be misconstrued.

- The data is withheld from the public
- Politicians benefit enormously from this
- Major corps, especially supermarkets, are making a KILLING off of this
- Masks don't work according to recent studies
- Social distancing doesn't work, as it's 100% un-enforcable
- Lock-downs, for 1% of the population, are an insidiously histrionic thing to do
- Deaths WITH COVID are not DEATHS FROM COVID (For the 40,000,000,000 freaking time!)
- Cancer has a MUCH higher fatality rate, but screw those patients, we have a virus to deal with
- Suicide kills more people than covid, to hell with those people though, we have ancient people to protect, pneumonia would be seriously lethal to them anyway!
- The BBC can make all serious adverts with people staring into your eyes despondently as they emotionally plead with you to sacrifice everything your life is worth living for, so some old man who would have died of pneumonia can live another 18 days.

Just stop with this whole appeal to morals! There are none in this pandemic. Whole generational groups have been thrown under the bus in a histrionic fit by the perpetually terrified!
Governments are fearful of everything, the wicked flee where none persueth, remember!

It's bad news for your friend, really it is. But this is NOT the story for over 99% of the population, and their solution was a vaccine that DOESN'T WORK! In fact could be the mark of the blasted beast!

They're censoring people, closing businesses, letting terminal people die and moralising to the rest of us about how this is all our fault because we wont just cower in our homes. Meanwhile the rest of the people congregate in the SAME SUPERMARKETS day in, day out and just socialise there instead. You know, because lockdowns aren't really lock-downs, they simply heard people where the political class wants them to go, mainly into large stores. . . . Does covid stop at the door? The checkout? Maybe the fire exit? Because they're not shuttered, they're 'essential' and they're FULL OF PEOPLE.

Get over yourself.

Duly noted. I'm glad you're on the mend though.

On the mend ?
I was never down....

Ah I thought you were ill for 2 weeks.

Oh puke. Just because one has a cold does not mean they're entirely down for the count. I've had many colds. Never was "on the mend" for most, just slowed down a bit. I was not down for the count with those.

Maybe it's just you. Not sure how bad off you are health-wise, but if Gothmog making it through a mild cold fine is a shocker and not what you expected, maybe the issue isn't the cold, it's your OWN health. If a cold is what licks ya, you ain't doing too good already.

COVID-19 is different to a cold. Some of the milder symptoms are similar, but there are a number of pneumonic effects in many that go beyond a cold.

Name one

Also it looks like we are simply witnessing a new virus enter the human population one day covid19 will most certainly be called the common cold

Call it what you will.
I had Covid - 19

Did you test positive?

Unless you were tested or had severe symptoms, how could you know if it was actually COVID-19 and not a standard cold?

Colds are still going around, too.

The clinical standards for COVID are public and that member is just as capable as any MD of filling in a multiple choice and fill in the blanks worksheet.

You were more than happy to accept the results and tout them when there were no tests available and loose clinical definitions. Now, once somebody you disagree with here says they had it, you are concerned about the standard used to determine it?

Plus I thought we all just had to accept it as a given that the common cold and flu have disappeared because of MuH MaSqUeS MaN.

This is what's touted hen faced with the ludicrous information that, according to the tracking statistics, pnuemonia, the cold and the flu are disappearing!

Guess it's just another tool in the 'this virus is major, major' arsenal. Oh well, another lock-down please, I never liked going to work to earn money anyway, rather get paid at home.

Sadly I know lots of people that are convinced that it's not a real virus and it's just seasonal flu but being made out to be something different for all kinds of varied nefarious reasons, most invoking the neo and such.

Covid denial is very real here in the UK.

A denier. Is that like a climate denier? Do these deniers deny that the virus is a virus? Or perhaps that it's a sickness? What exactly do the deniers deny?

I don't know anyone who denies the virus is real, but most of the people I know feel that the response to the virus was severely overblown and mismanaged on the global level. Which is completely different then what your OP is about. Having never met a "denier", I'm curios to learn more about them.

Covid denial is that bad that we've all accepted a lock-down based on a virus that's main symptom is . . . . That it has no symptoms! Omergerrrrrrrd! HIDE!!!!

Does it ever occur to you that maybe, just MAYBE, you're the one in denial? Maybe? No? Never?

To the OP:

“I'm talking about Covid-deniers or Covidiots. “

Regardless of the rest of the TLDR you posted, this sentence is your entire intent.

Just a moralistic hit piece that openly insults people from the go.

Disappointing.

I authored a thread the other day,,

So you're butthurt, why not continue that thread?.......more Covid "the sky is falling"

Wasting space on ATS

This is a completely different topic, that one was the announcement that the new strain is more deadly, this is about how people spreading crap about Covid is costing lives. You didn't need to comment.

There's something fishy about it, that's obvious but it's real. To many around here deny that.

That's what 99.9% of the 'anti-covid' police have, they don't have the facts or the statistics to bear out their argument, as time goes on they're turning against them.

Boris Johnson said that the new strain in the UK was 30% more lethal, and he based it on NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING scientific, in fact, the scientists turned around and called 'fake news'.......

The Covid proponents all have the same quality. They're demeaning, act superior and think they know better. It's frigging annoying trying to have a cogent debate when all the while you're expected to stand there with someone who thinks you're trying to kill their nan.....

He deserved better than to have his life endangered by a flood of fake news – and so do millions of others.

He also deserves better than to have his death used for cheap political points.

Why did this man -- and so many others -- not believe the government, the news media, and the medical industrial complex?

Because he didn't apply critical thinking to the stuff he was reading, he let himself be led down rabbit holes. Like so many.

You know the numbers are likely higher than being reported, as no country wants to be the world leader in Covid Deaths!

No, read it, the rest is more balanced. It's idiotic to suggest there is no pandemic

Well, I'd say that's mighty conspiratorial!

I like it! Though I disagree, I just think they're trying to make something out that isn't true, that's why none of their 'data' makes any cogent sense!

Big sigh. And where does this lack of critical thinking skills -- in effect, the dumbing down of Americans -- originate from? Authorities who are not trustworthy because they are serving their own purposes.

Teach critical thinking skills, teach resourcefulness and self-sufficiency, and people will know better. Then people will do better.

Otherwise it's just garbage in and garbage out.

We'll see you at 8pm sharp, this level of thought crime will not be tolerated!

You implied the authorities never lie to further their own nefarious purposes! That's two weeks in an ISOCUBE. Please leave your 'free thoughts' in your head Civvy! This aint the time for facts! We've got feelings to stir!

i think it's more about the attitude: against masks, against lockdown and so on. i agree that some measures seem excessive, but i'm not a virologist, a doctor or a scientist, they know better.

It's not just americans being dumbed down, it's the whole world but you're right about where it's coming from.

Plus there's the fact that information is so readily available in this day in age it's really easy to go looking for stories that confirm pretty much anything.
