I understand the purpose of the second amendment just fine.

Thing is said amendment never really envisaged armalite rifles and more guns than people.

I was going to edit my post to say that you think it's outdated so I apologise for that.

I could also argue though that it's needed now more than ever.

I know a lot of people highlight the fact that the 2nd is to fight domestic tyranny but let us nt forget that it protects against foreign invaders too.

The United States are under attack by both foreign and domestic enemies.

I haven’t seen a single thing in recent years indicating that the government has ANY fear of a militia.
