Trump is now the first president to have been impeached twice, and both for the imaginary crimes found fluttering in a Democrat’s skull, soon to be pounded into our brains by sheer force of repetition. That this event is happening a mere week from when the president will leave office only serves to prove the absurdity of Congress. God help us.

I'm not one to use the fallacious phrase "un-American", but I am at a lost for adjectives to describe what I'm watching. We cannot know whether Congress' motives are of vindictiveness, abject delusion, or some species thereof. What we can know is that those who pushed through with impeachment have now found themselves in a bind, and we at their mercy. Though their oath of office requires them to support and defend the constitution, the accusation of “incitement of insurrection” is in direct contradiction to the 1st amendment of it. Thus, not only is their persecution unconstitutional, it violates their oath of office. The phrase "un-American" only grows in emphasis.

Those who shatter their oaths will no doubt abuse their power. When Pelosi described the President as a “clear and present danger”, she was, whether on purpose or not, alluding to a fatuous, outmoded and eventually rejected Supreme Court doctrine regarding the 1st amendment. The current constitutional test for incitement is “immanent lawless action”, which has been standard since 1969. In order for Trump’s words to rise to the level of criminality he would have to advocate for the use of force or the violation of law. This advocacy would have to produce immanent lawless action. Trump has done none of that—has done the opposite of that—and is not guilty of anything according to any American law. Case closed, you would think.

But this is no court. This is play-acting. Enter Congress, stage far-left. It appears the impeachment party has lifted their definition of “incitement" from the terms and conditions of some boutique, San Fran social-media company, who now uses the same thoughtcrime to censor their users. It’s the sort of illiberal authoritarianism we might expect from the perpetually thin-skinned, so let’s not pretend that we’re surprised, and move quickly to what we can do about this abuse of power.

For years we've been watching Congressional Democrats and their GOP allies descend into hatred until this very point, only to erect imaginary crimes that only the President can break. How does a public deal with a kangaroo court disguised as congress? In light of the two-tiered treatment of violent protesters, the president defamed, his businesses threatened, his supporter's censored voices now barely echoing in darkness, remember what Orwell said of the chilling future we now find ourselves within:

“But always there will be the intoxication of power. Always, at every moment, there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless. If you want a picture of the future imagine a boot stamping on a human face—forever. The moral to be drawn from this nightmare situation is a simple one: Don’t let it happen. It depends on you.”

Stay free.

I’m sure the President’s response to this fake impeachment will be the same as mine

“Meh”

Might as well get comfy. The train left the station years ago.

Our political shenanigans have made us weak and prone to calamity.

Can't really say where all this ends, but maybe we have a chance to rebuild and not repeat the the same mistakes once it comes.

move quickly to what we can do about this abuse of power.

and do what? Is that an appropriate question? It's a big question for sure, it's a question that has had a lot of answers over the years and one that short of violence seems to always turn to squat. It's been tried by the left and it pissed off the right and those in the middle. It's been tried by the right and pissed off the left, ,,,,,and those in the middle.

So help us all out here if you can, if you want, tell us all both left and right just what is it you think we can do to, as you call it , ''move quickly to what we can do about this abuse of power''

I would suggest asserting the same rights they seek to destroy. Assemble. Petition. Speak up.

With Pelosi getting all worked up over Trump finishing his last week in the job is weird.

They got away with the vote fraud, the courts did not care and Pence signed off on it. Even the JCOS have signed off on it. So why all this impeachment fuss when Trump has a week to go.

With it all looking like Biden is on on Jan 20th, impeachment only woks for a sitting President. What is really going on?

It’s a purge of Trump’s legacy, will assure he can never return, and that any dissent from the establishment will suffer the same fate. After listening to them talk about the sanctity of democracy one has spit.

They have been trying to do that his whole term and keep coming up empty. I don't see any valid grounds from this try either. Just a bad case of TDS maybe? Or does Trump have a plan to start the mass arrests at the last minute and this impeachment is a weak attempt to stop it? Guess we find out next week.

Former FBI Director James Comey says Joe Biden should PARDON President Trump.

www.foxnews.com...

Not necessary. Trump's Approval rating is higher than ever. It increases with each Impeachment.

There's still time for Nancy Pelosi to Impeach President Trump 5 more times before January 20th!

Come on Nancy...You can do it!

His rising approval rating (even AFTER the peaceful protest at the capitol) is driving these leftists insane

“But, but HOW?!?!?!?”

It’s funny watching their little minds struggle to comprehend it.

Every critter that voted for this sham impeachment has lost all credibility with the thinking public... and gained creds with those who just want Trump punished.

The people know this wasn't necessary or proper. Even those cheering the loudest.

"Impeachment" has now lost its bite... just like "racist"... because it has been so trivialized and politicized. If things don't change I expect the same for "president."

I expect Joe Biden to be sworn in as scheduled. He will never have the respect of the people. Nor will this current congress. 2022 midterms should be interesting...

Making history with a 0-2 record of trying to remove the same president would tend to do that.

Nancy's desperate. She's desperate to keep attention off what her congressional leadership has wrought. Just look at what they've allowed to happen to our country. Just look at the amount of debt we've been buried in during the time she's been in office.

It always goes back to the money.

And, she knows Americans are FOOLS to allow them even one more breath.

They'd be a LOT more interesting if there was a voting selection that read, "You're Fired."

Either limit the terms or do away with career politicians altogether. End lobbying by big businesses, make the law more straightforward and easy to follow/understand.

As it is there is so much corruption it is rotten to the core.
