YouTube takes down Trump video, bans new uploads for a week

Here we go again. President Trump uploaded a video to his YouTube channel today, and YouTube took it and won't let any more uploads to that account for 7 days. It's also disabled comments.

YouTube said Tuesday that it has taken down newly posted video content from President Trump for violating its policies against inciting violence. In addition, it has assessed a "strike" against the account, which means the President can't upload new videos or livestream from the account for a minimum of 7 days.

"After careful review, and in light of concerns about the ongoing potential for violence, we removed new content uploaded to the Donald J. Trump channel and issued a strike for violating our policies for inciting violence," YouTube said in a statement to Axios. "As a result, in accordance with our long-standing strikes system, the channel is now prevented from uploading new videos or livestreams for a minimum of seven days—which may be extended."

YouTube is also suspending comments throughout Trump's channel, citing the risk of violence. It has limited comments on other accounts in the past, but typically for child safety issues.

People pay for youtube? Why? When you can use newpipe or such things as youtube-dl, plugins for mplayer or vlc, or kodi. Why people pay for their bull# propaganda is beyond me. Plenty of ways to shovel corporate nonsense down your gullet for free.

I don't agree with any sort of censorship. Youtube isn't doing social media any favors.

Today’s speech was calm, cool, and collected. He didn’t look or sound the least bit bothered. It was nice to see.

No doubt Trump winning 2016 was a incredible achievement. I think he excels when people say he can't do something. I could careless about him as an entrepreneur because he inherited money and had bankruptcys. Also he didn't always treat business dealings ethically (not paying people - taking them to court yo avoid paying).

As for censorship, i think it's way overboard. And not that i support the hardcore censorship but trump shot himself in the foot with that capitol rush.
