Seems the Republicans have blocked the 25th Amendment:
www.yahoo.com...

WASHINGTON – House Republicans on Monday blocked a resolution aimed at encouraging removal of President Donald Trump through the 25th Amendment while Democrats introduced a new impeachment article against the president.

Pence has not shown an interest in triggering the never-used section of the amendment that could strip Trump of his authority. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Sunday that lawmakers must "act with urgency" because Trump is an imminent threat to both the Constitution and democracy.

What is nacy's rush to get President Trump out? He's going to be gone in just a matter of a few days. . . Or is she afraid that what was on her missing laptop that was returned is going to be released.

I didn't think their excuses for impeachment could get more ridiculous than the last, then dems went full troll. Insurrection.... SMDH

Watch closely. Not one republican in the house or senate will stand up against this. We are a one-party system with two faces. All doubt of that has been removed.

Well, that's a matter of perspective don't you think? Try looking at it this way. Republican down tickets won while the WH ticket went down. With all the rhetoric out there, Biden still only managed a 7 million vote victory. More people voted AGAINST the President Elect than at any other time in history.

In 16 people voted against Clinton and that meant voting for Trump. It was much the same this year except that enough of those people who voted against Clinton in 16 ended up holding their noses and voted for Biden.

Those folk will still be there in 24 and voting for sound conservatism over whatever the Dems have to offer

They blocked a unanimous vote. It will then go for a roll call vote tomorrow. At that point they're then giving Pence 24 hours to enact the 25th Amendment. If he hasn't done so after 24 hours then the Articles of Impeachment will be filed.

Anyone want to take bets that this will now be used with every President going forward by both parties. They say something stupid...impeach. Executive Order you don't like...impeach.

Waiting for the crying when the shoe is on the other foot.

Are you all wanting this? I honestly see it as idiotic to a degree not witnessed yet. But maybe I'm missing something.
9 days, Trump will be an ex president. He will leave disgraced and broken. he was already impeached for asking about the investigation the FBI was doing on Hunter, what more do ya'll want? A Firing squad? a Hanging? I'd almost like to see you get it so you could realize how doing something like this opens up things much like it for the future.

I hope smarter folks can step up.

Said it before I didn't agree with how Trump was and what he said in Washington last week. That said

4 years and such historic business and jobs lost, people filled with uncertainty and they are going do exactly what they did at the start of his Presidency. Spend time and money on this crap with 9 days left. get busy fixing the country instead of some BS symbolism. People need help

Yay!
The wheels on the bus go round round round.

The Republican party better very carefully think over their next few choices.
Trump got ten million votes more than he did last time and it wasn't because he was a Republican.
Those people voted for trump, not his party.

I think the wheels have fell off the bus.

Personally I think it's kind of pointless to do this with 9 days left in Trump's term.

Nancy stated that she wanted Trump to be impeached so that he could not run for president again. I'm assuming she's assuming that if they can successfully impeach him again, that this time the Senate can also remove him from office and prevent him from running again in 2024.

The two problems she has are:

1. The impeachment cannot be completed before his term is out.

2. You cannot impeach someone who is not in office.

And that's leaving aside the obvious, that Trump never directly did anything other than call for them protest in front of the Capitol. That is nothing other have not done in the past and if considered free speech and assembly.

So basically, the Democrats are impeaching the President for exercising his 1st Amendment rights.

I ask, ''who's the boss here''. Not who do we ''want'' to be the boss. As I see it the boss is now the corporate structure. Do I like it, hell no, but it does seem to be reality.

And the boss is now saying ''off with their heads'' about Trump and his cohorts. They allowed him his time in office because he fed them with tax cuts and loosening of regulations but now that time is over as they see it. They want business as usual whether that usual is the old usual or the new usual they will be ushering in.

For a brief moment Trump and his chaos was a blunt asset but now is more of a liability than anything else. Best for the rest of us to let go of him now rather than following him into dementia in this phony revolution he promised.

Inciting an Insurrection?

Nope: www.abovetopsecret.com...

Mainstream Media is perplexed over why the next President is afraid to speak at this historic moment. They thought China-Joe would be a LEADER. Jokes on them!

If we can survive Nixon's final days Pretty sure we can survive Trump's. He isn't going to do anything and impeaching him now would be nothing but symbolic. If they are worried he would run again that probably isn't gonna happen, sure he still has his "base" but he ran off a lot of his support these last 2 months also. Whatever the next 4 years brings now he is in some ways partially responsible.

It's the pendulum swing that is ruining politics. The US was never set up to have a two party system and we are seeing why.

Sure it swung before Clinton was President, but at least in 1988 we still had a middle, right and left. Since then we have had nothing but one drastic Swing from one side to the other and with each election it is swinging higher and higher.

We need a moderate party and we need it now! If the Republicans don't fix this mess in the next year they will lose more seats in 2022 and they will have no hope in 2024. They absolutely must carve out a more moderate party to survive and if that means cutting lose some members then so be it.

And I don't see why moderates from the Dems and Reps can't come together and create a third party that isn't willing to sacrifice this country because they are stuck on some pendulum ride.

Republicans/GOP block removing President Trump via the 25th Amendment.

thehill.com...

Looks like Nancy is going to have to work for her Nothing Burger impeachment.

Trump said after the last one that it didn't mean much to him.

He hasn't been in the Government/Political realm but 5 years. Words like "Impeachment" and "Shut Down" don't make any of us pis our pants, lol.

Pence wouldn't 25 Trump for the simple fact the Trump would have continually hounded him for a pardon. Indictment for serious crimes and misdemeanors would bar Trump from political office and he would do prison time.

Trump still has supporters in the house and congress but a 2/3 vote shouldn't be too difficult. Only way the GOP can save ass.

I'm sure many people voted for Trump because he was Trump, but there was also many people who voted for Trump this time only because the choice of Biden meant a vote for Socialism.

So yes, they better think long and hard about why Trump got those votes and why shedding some of them might be for the better in the long run.
