I do find those of us who are on opposing sides in British matters are all pretty much on the same page when it comes to US Politics.

In The UK we have tribalism when it comes to politics, but to a far lesser degree to over there.

They take it so much more personally, to a degree that is totally over the top. Here we have our election, if our side loose we just shrug our shoulders and say ok lets do better next time.

Looking at Republicans and Democrats is like looking at Shia and Sunnis.

American politics on the other hand is just so divisive, intolerant and polarised that it seems alien to us.

I actually worded that badly - believing in the marxist/communist religion does not in and of itself put you in the camp of engaging in sedition or treason.

That said, it is somewhat of a conundrum, since the very definition of marxism/communism in America entails the advocation of the overthrow of our government. So, how can you see it as anything but engaging in sedition/treason?
