We just need to adopt their rhetoric.

1. We are an idea.

2. We seek peace through violence.

(Yes, this was apparently an actual chyron on CNN this week.)

There was a joke in the Soviet Union.

“Comrade, will there be war with the capitalists?”

“No comrade! There will be a violent & bloody struggle for peace!”

You could:

- Smear "Don't trade with Trumpsters" over every entrance of a shop.
- Put them into a camp, over the entrance it will read "Arbeit macht frei".
- Make them wear special signs, depending on their personal opinion about things.
- Host book burnings.

If that's too much Hitler for you, just pretend I posted the whole 1984 by G.Orwell.

Or we can pretend you read it.

How about we pretend you understood my last sentence. It takes some smarts but you can do it.

I believe in you.

Joke's on you.

We read it and that it was a cautionary tale. You read it and thought it was an instruction manual.

Good, for a moment I thought what I implied was lost in translation.

Yeah and I am that person who recommends this book weekly but have never read it.

I'm real sugar, not saccharine.

Somehow, I've managed to be properly educated. I read Animal Farm on my own as a kid, and got assigned both 1984 and Brave New World as various points in high school and college. So I've been through the trifecta of dystopianism. The one I haven't actually read is Fahrenheit 451.

We had Orwell in literature classes, the English version, not a translation, but read it in German, too. I think it was 11th class, that would be first college year or so for American comparison. Had the translated book on my shelf, a present from my uncle. We also got shoved WW2 down our throats for a full year in history class. Was like the never ending story, not literally though. Adding 1+1 together doesn't make much difference -modus operandi wise. I also read Mein Kampf but that was a headache-y one. I also read Merkel's Agenda21. Snowden's book. Hundreds of others. I had an accident as a teen and spent a lot of time tied to the bed.

One could bait me into a trap with the smell of old inked paper, really.

I rather read than watch TV, always been like this. Would read books between classes, whenever possible. My biggest treasure is an ancient copy of Arabian Nights. It's already falling apart, I've only touched it a few times, inherited it. I know my uncle went through a lot of trouble to get it back. It's written in Old German letters, can not read it, just a few letters that I recognize and the grammar is strange.

Didn't read Fahrenheit 451 but I saw it being brought up here. I need to catch up on it.

With the ongoing "pogrom" going on with the vast censorship on social media sites and the on-going purges and eventual firing of anyone who didn't kneel for Biden and vote for Harris, I've really begun to rethink my societal, political position.

Yea. Right. 'They're' going after everyone that didn't vote for Biden. Typical Right hyperbole. 'They're' going after the insurrectionists that stormed the Capitol for damned sure and those people deserve everything they get. With the Parler data breech the FBI now knows everything they need to know. Geo-locating anyone?

Oh, and be sure to send back those socialist stimulus checks as I'm sure you did your last ones. Don't want to be taking any hand-outs from the government now do we? My DC source is telling me they are working to be sure anyone identified as having taken part in the siege is disqualified from receiving Federal stimulus or expanded unemployment. As they should.

You don't get it. They're purging anyone who questions because it's more than likely that if you engaged in social media to any great degree, you have links to one or more people who have been purged, passed along something from them, and thus are deemed worthy of purging yourself.

Guilt by association, not innocent until proven guilty, and what was done to Parler was a wholesale massacre of an entire site for simply deciding to run itself by its own standards. I have to wonder ... has StormFront (or whatever it's called) been taken down yet?

Anyone now seeking national redemption by claiming to no longer support Trump must acknowledge how wrong it was to ignore & enable his corrupt, dishonest, & divisive agenda.

Total denunciation of a despot’s legacy is necessary to eradicate any remaining malignancy.

Guess who wrote that.

This person is asking people to admit they voted the wrong person. Not only does this breach the idea of the voting secret, that's also step 1:

Single out a group and relativize their status in society. Next step: demand reduced rights because of bad-think. Open your eyes, the mechanism put in place will one day used against you, when you are on the wrong side of the voting population for the crazies.

First they came for the Republicans....
