What we have here is an act of treason

America was founded on an act of treason.

Is that what is the matter here?
As a Brit, you are still hurt at what happened almost 250 years ago?

Just laying out " facts " Unless you think it's untrue.

It’s subjective.
Is it treason to attempt to free yourself from tyranny?

He has a point. However opposing opposition of trump, and his followers may be, we have big tech internet corporations influencing our government state affairs, and also appear to be allied with the opposing political party.

That realization by itself should concern all Americans regardless of political affiliation. So 10 years from now say you disagree with the current opposing party and want an alternative, well guess what, good luck finding that information outlet. Their won’t be an alternative...

Ironically, it's more like an act of McCarthyism. Conservatism is the new communism after all.

Ironically, it is now quite clear to any rational thinking being that McCarthy was right, and we are now seeing the proof of it in action.

It's only tyranny in the eyes of Americans.

If you want to change things, the democratic process is the correct way.

Whether you want to admit it or not, the true democratic process here in the US has been compromised.
In more ways than one.

Oh, the US? No, good men rose against a corrupt government. First they offered a declaration of independence. The corrupt government labeled them as terrorists and tried to crush them.

No... it was not.
The people living here were not British and had no obligation to follow British rule.
They also made no attempt to kill the king or overthrow the British government.

Last time I looked Twitter was a private company, they have Terms and Conditions just like ATS does. If an individual breaks them - consistently then it's only right they deal with it - just like ATS would. That's not communism, it's a company exercising its rights.

All this whining is getting unseemly now.

That sounds perfectly fair in principle, the difficulty come in that companies like Twitter and Facebook are the equivalent of the old Television and newspaper monopolies of yesteryear.

Yes, they are private companies, and yes they have their own terms and conditions, but so much of the public discourse now happens through them that even a slight political or social bias in their terms and conditions can have a dramatic effect.

If a big media company puts its power behind a group like BLM they can take down anything that criticizes then, or they can bury an issue that needs talking about such as left wing violence.

These companies are also except from a lot of the checks and balances that cover regular publishers like newspapers, and there is no requirement for them to maintain a level playing field, so they can support a particular political candidate and suppress another.

Do you remember when they stopped putting certain conservative politicians names into autocomplete, meaning that you'd have to search for their full name and get the spelling correct in order to get anything for them.

There is also a lot of scope for innocent people to be censored.

For example, both companies stated that they wanted to stop the spread of misleading rumors regarding Covid and the Covid vaccine, but this also catches up people who have genuine concerns that they want to voice. There was even a flap a couple of months ago when one of Youtubes debunking channels was censored because the team behind it were debunking covid myths and Youtube took their video down because it contained information on those myths.

So then obviously there were plenty of politicians banned when they encouraged ongoing riots, right?

I don't remember that timeline, perhaps you could refresh my memory?

Agreed. The democracy they speak about I want nothing to do with. Its bastardized communism. Nothing to do with the Constitution

Views like yours are why the British empire, which they took using military force, was once half of the world and is now the size of Texas.

At least we had an Empire. Something America will never have.

Really? You think Xi Jinping would get banned from Sina Weibo, or ever censored or cancelled or publicly mentioned in any other form than heavily ass kissing?
On what planet? What #ing China are you people talking about? Are these slip throughs from a parallel world?

Have you not paid attention to the CCP's actions? Every time they have a high-level official that disagrees with one faction vs the other, he is first disappeared on all media, then often disappeared in real-life. If they want Xi gone, he would be locked out in a second.

Nikki Haley Likens Trump Twitter Suspension to Act of Communism

That word has lost all meaning due to people like Haley using it as an insult against everything. There used to be conservative arguments, people making good points against arguments. Now there is just a blanket charge of communism, against any and everything.

Seems the days of thinking conservatives are long gone, if they ever really existed.

so you are in favor of not allowing any conservative opinions to be shared via social media?
