He deactivated his account... it’s not a digital purge it’s people who are fed up with the bs on Twitter. Perhaps before spreading incorrect information do some research.

WTF!

The Digital Purge has begun.

Take note this is all going down very soon 6 months tops we
should be taking the reins of resistance right effing now. I hope
that's plain enough for everyone. It's now or population reduction.

You all now how a socialist take over begins. You want that here?
Keep typing. Time to organize something even if it's wrong.

You should know by now that you can't organize something without FBI and CIA plants.

Here is a prediction:

First don't worry... eventually you will see patriots use the power of modern technology.

We are at a point in time that an army of locust can be created in your backyard with micro and nano technology. Plus the art of invisibility is here, the enemy will never see it coming. Here is the kicker, one doesn't need a degree in electronics to create these invisible devices.

I'm intentionally being very vague, all one needs to know is how to code, be a part time hobbyist.

Keyboard warriors will rise.

The days of untouchable, tyrannical elites are over... all thanks to their technology.

End of prediction.

but really this is just one of many scenarios that could happen.... in my head lol.

I noticed that many of our Aussie members are all for censorship,
Incorrect. Australia actually has a very open free speech regime, but there are quite useful remedies for lies, defamation, and hate speech.

And just FYI, I am an American who just happens to live in Australia.

sad but not surprised, they gave up their guns,
Incorrect. People who need guns can get guns without much difficulty. Hunters hunt; farmers shoot foxes and scare away Cockatoos and put down horses with broken legs; sport shooters shoot targets - just like before the buy back. In fact, there are more guns in Australia now than before the buy back - but there are also zero mass shootings.

You really shouldn't let the NRA teach you about what is going on in other countries, they lie to you and they embezzle your dues.

their freedoms(lockdowns)
Incorrect. No freedoms were 'given up' - they were merely suspended (in Victoria only! - other states have not had the hard lockdown) for a few weeks while the virus spread was blocked. It worked and we (in Victoria) have zero community spread and the lock down has been completely lifted.

Victoria had a large 2nd wave and we dealt with it decisively, didn't allow it to break out into other states, and are now the envy of the other states. Victoria has the occasional outbreak from quarantine of returned overseas travelers, but they are now dealt with quickly and easily. The economy is open and bubbling along just fine. Wash your hands, wear a mask in inside public buildings (unless eating or drinking), and register your presence so you can be contacted for testing if a newly discovered case has been where you were at the same time.

None of that is giving up any freedoms - it is practicing good hygiene and protecting public health - and our hospitals are not overrun, we aren't dumping bodies in reefer trucks (or, as a nursing friend of mine (in the USA) was told, "Just leave the body in the bed and turn the AC on as cold as it will go, we'll deal with it in the morning") because the hospital morgues are already overflowing.

When I was growing up in America, public health was taken seriously, not used as a political toy to be used to rile up the us versus them contrarians. Speaking of giving up freedoms, have you ever even seen an iron lung? I have seen them, in use, with real people in them who would die with out them. Can you possibly imagine what it would be like to spend your life in one? Do you know why you haven't seen one (except maybe in old photos)? Because polio vaccines were developed and distributed FREE to everyone (OMG SOCIALISM!).

what are you guys willing to give up next?
Aussies love to travel overseas to engage with other people, places, and history. That has obviously been suspended for a while too, but in exchange Australians are discovering Australia more. Our rural economies are booming with home grown tourism. How's yours doing?

The real question here is one you should be asking yourself:

How many more people are you willing to let die before you figure out that staying home for a few weeks and wearing a mask when you do go out might have saved your mother's or father's or sister's or employer's lives? Who else are you willing to sacrifice on the alter of 'wearing a mask is against my freedumbs'?

The percentage of Covid 'long haulers' is not nailed down, but 10% seems to be in the ballpark - that means that already there are hundreds of thousands of people will be in the medical system for LIFE with lung, heart, kidney, and possibly brain damage (to varying degrees) due to Covid. How many more do you want to sacrifice because your right to spread the virus is more important than your responsibility to behave in a responsible manner and protect others?

Can we read your manifesto?

Not all of us mate...they tend to get worse the further south you go.

Ah yes, Northern Australia (Queensland) the home of that world renowned free speech advocate Joh Bjelke-Petersen

Not a big fan of the bloke, but I'd take him over Chairman Dan any day of the week.

I de-activated (wish there was a delete) my Twitter account even before the election, sometime around September.

I suggest you ALL get off that platform now, tonight.

There is no "battleground" on Twitter to be won.

You can't win it and it does nothing but help the LEFT.

Sincerely, give it up. Give it ALL up.

Free yourself and buy some goddamn guns and ammo.

It's coming.

Maybe read the post before flapping your gums.

It says very clearly in the opening post that he may have deleted his account and more information would be posted as it becomes available.

It looks like the Democratic Party, commercial media, social media, cancel culture and Donald Trump are all jumping the shark together.

Kind of heartwarming, really.

What's needed is a neutral platform to rival Facebook and Twitter. One without the obvious political bias.

My fear is A) that the liberal media is too big to fight, and B) that if people do try to create an alternative we will see a repeat of what happened when Visa got political and started demanding that crowd funding site stop servicing conservatives or get their ability to receive payments shot down.

That is a huge part of this issue.
On one hand places like Facebook, youtube and Twitter get protection from lawsuits because they are just a hosting site, but when they start “fact checking” and and censoring content with vague or biased reasoning they are now technically publishers and are not covered by those same protections.

I have seen dozens of YouTube creators that have had videos deleted or demonetized and can’t get any explanation from YouTube. They have protested and get the video back up but it’s past the two week window to pop up in peoples subscription notifications. They can re-upload the video but then it gets flagged again and the process starts over.

So yeah, there needs to be a neutral host but then they won’t let apps like parler on the apple and google stores.
It never ends.

I am in full agreement with this tactic. Twitter has made a business decision calculating that this ban on Trump would not damage it's bottom line enough to do them serious financial harm. The more people that delete their accounts could prove that decision fatal to their enterprise. Or not. Time will tell.

I'm not surprised, you disagree with all things Trump and Conservative. When it comes back on things you believe in, just remember this conversation.

Hal, I have been anti-corporatism for most of my life. I have watched it's creep on American systems of governance for decades. I watched it take a giant leap under Reagan and another under Slick Willy. And all along it was lauded as the best thing for America by conservatives. Oh yes, I have been watching it creep around us, into our pores and into our heads.

The basic message from my post is that conservatives and liberals and consumers alike have sold us out to the corporations that now run the world. It is a reality and Facebook and Twitter and such are just children of that sell out. Calling the power of Facebook to do whatever the hell it wants as censorship or a curtailment of free speech is missing the point entirely. There never was free speech on Facebook. Ever. It's a corporate giant that writes it's own rules now no thanks to those conservatives of both parties that over the last five decades have let it happen.
