I agree with this viewpoint to an extend.

However if a cartel investigation is set in motion it's not about preventing someone to be successful. Capitalism does not work either if there is a monopoly like structure that cartels provide with secret price agreements and similar.

That's one ugly side of capitalism, that's why we have laws to prevent it. It's far from socialism since socialism isn't aiming at companies but the citizens. On a level it is compareable.

But just because apple and cherries grow on trees, doesn't make both the same thing.

Fine, start the cartel investigation, file the indictments, take it to court. And wait years for it to go thru the system....Which businesses do you think should be shut down first and controlled by the government. Or perhaps just shut them all down and institute an official government sanctioned media like in China. That should take care of the "ugly side of capitalism" right quick.... Slippery slope my friend....

Navigating the world is a slippery slope all the time.

We have Google, Twitter, Amazon and Apple, that have done this in a tight time frame. Do you believe that this is all a coincidence or that this is a combined efford by four tech giants, to kill a competing platform / political views?

.Which businesses do you think should be shut down first and controlled by the government.

None.

Do you applaud Parler being shut down because they are of opposing political view?

Do you support a web site like Parler that advocated bloodshed, revolution, sedition, treason and trashing the constitution. We saw the results in the nations Capitol recently.

Here's an example....

Truly a terrifying display in Washington. A group of folks wander aimlessly around the capitol building, and one is murdered by gestapo.

If only there were 3 months of violence and burning in America recently, organised nationwide and actively encouraged by corporate mouthpieces, where the perpetrators suffered no consequences whatsoever. That;d show them how it’s done.

And a cop murdered by being beat over the head with a fire extinguisher.

I thought the right wing supported LEOs, now they are the gestapo?

This won't end well....

That's quite a stretch saying Parler advocated violence and bloodshed because a few users did. With that kind of reasoning would it be safe to say that Twitter supports the same, or even worse, Child Porn, since , you know, some of it's users do?

Spin it however you want. What happened in the capitol was treason and parler played a part in that treason by instigating it.

Do you support a web site like Twitter that advocated bloodshed, revolution, sedition, treason and trashing the constitution. We saw the results the last summer.

And then you have hypocrite gold like this:

Pelosi says rioters chose their 'whiteness' over democracy

www.usnews.com...

When the whole summer over BLM was arm in arm with ANTIFA burning cities down.

You can't get much more hypocrite than that!

Dorsey even mocked Parler.

They know no one in the incoming admin will go after them like they should.

Yeah that's like putting sugar in your rivals tank before a drag race and then celebrate you are no1. Later post a picture and the middlefinger because you know the racing headquarters will just turn their backs on this, because I tend to play badminton with the exec's son frequently.

That's exactly that.

Not exactly. If the time would come that I am punishable for what you say or do, then you will not be able to say nor do anything anywhere on the internet. That is a guarantee.

Buy something on Amazon? Nope, choking hazard may apply and Bezos can be sued to oblivion...so no cheap trinkets for you. XBox and PlayStation...gone. The mods to a video game on their downloading service might be too hard or have offensive content such as a red bandana tied to a character’s leg (gang related reference).

You are correct to a point. You are not Google or Twitter or Parler or ATS or the other sites.

Section 230 protects those sites from exactly that: them being punishable for what you or I say on their sites.

The ATS T&C was quoted to defend the idea that ATS would be protected with or without Section 230. Do you not think that Google, Twitter, Parler, Wikileaks, Amazon, Walmart, LinkedIn, Instagram, on and on an on don't have T&C wording so close to what ATS has that it might as well be boiler plate?

Advocating for revoking section 230 is advocating for the death of any and all social media sites - whether ATS or Menulog or your kids school interactive newsletter. No site can survive with out such protection from prosecution or threat of lawsuits. None.

The point of 230 is to differentiate between “a live environment” and a “produced one”. If I write a book, then I am responsible for the content. If you publish that book unedited, you assume liability.

ATS don’t allow racist material. We remove it as we identify it. That doesn’t mean that you won’t ever see it, due to the live environment. 230 protects ATS from being sued over content we did not create, did not endorse or had not removed. 230 was never meant to be a shelter for actual censorship to create an echo chamber.

Now here is where it becomes really interesting...did the US government material of financial support to any of these companies in exchange for some service provided? Like cash for personal data for example. If so, the 1st might apply. Kinda like how once a private college accepts state funding it becomes a public college.

ATS hasn’t, otherwise financial concerns would not have put the site up for sale on the market. Can Facebook and Twitter say the same...I have some serious doubts.

And RIGHT NOW, everything from Parler is getting downloaded:

EVERYTHING. Assuming "you" for everyone here who might have been on parler with an account:

- your complete history.

- if you verified your account, your FRONT- and BACKSIDE of your ID you provided.

- every video, every audio, every other media uploaded.

- every DELETED message, as they were not deleted but "bit-marked" as "deleted".

"so a group of developers latched onto the Press Release that Twilio put out at midnight last night. In that Press Release, Twilio accidentally revealed which services Parler was using. Turns out it was all of the security authentications that were used to register a user. This allowed anyone to create a user, and not have to verify an email address, and immediately have a logged-on account.

Well, because of that access, it gave them access to the behind the login box API that is used to deliver content -- ALL CONTENT (parleys, video, images, user profiles, user information, etc) --. But what it also did was revealed which USERS had "Administration" rights, "Moderation" rights.

Well, then what happened, those user accounts that had Administration rights to the entire platform... The hackers, internet warriors, call it what you will, was able to use the forgot password link to change the password. Why? Because Twilio was no longer authenticating emails. This meant, they'd get directly to the reset password screen of that Administration user.

This group of Internet Warriors then used that account, to create a handful of other ADMINISTRATION accounts, and then created a script that ended up creating MILLIONS of fake administration accounts.

Now that they had a way of creating admin accounts without interruption, they created a Docker Image (basically a virtual machine) called a Warrior, that anyone could download, and when fired up, would immediately start collecting data off of Parlre, in a coordinated fashion.

Consider it like SETI (Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence) that people used to load up as screen savers when their computers were not being used. Same concept, crowdsourcing.

All of this data, the videos, the images, the posts, the metadata (including the GEO location of all images and videos, and the connections to the accounts that posted it, has been (since midnight) being uploaded to various cloud drives and storage arrays for the purposes of Archiving this information, for later retrieval by law enforcement, by the public, by Open Source Intelligence communities.

And the kicker.. is this: all of this information was thought to be secure and private by individuals who were making the posts. A significant number of those individuals went through the process of being a "Verified Citizen" on Parler. What does that mean?

It means they uploaded a picture of the front and back of their REAL State Driver's License........ Let that sink in for a second.

I am positive the FBI has been actively soaking in this information along with the Internet Warriors, but this is how they are going to officially track down.

And it's how the FBI, DHS, and FAA have been able to immediately and exhaustively create no-fly lists. Every verified attendee of the Capitol riot where they can find a real name has been placed on No-Fly Lists.

It might seem like a small geeky glitch or hack.. but in the age of Information warfare... this is the silver bullet for the people who used Parler as a place to organize their efforts.

Also, a lot of posts were deleted by Parler members after the riots on the 6th. Turned out... Parler didn't actually delete anything.. just set a bit as deleted.

Guess what has access to all "deleted" content?

Administrator accounts."
