I reached out to the witness and Awaiting a reply.
I won’t be able to go into deep detail, unless he Gives permission.
But I’ll be able to provide updates on the investigation side of things.

No matter the case, I always respect witness confidentiality.
But, more often then not, if the witness makes a report, they are usually willing to share the details.
I’ll update once I hear back.

Edit to add: My first impression is possibly a drone.
Not just any drone, but Specifically this drone and company.
Drone delivery Canada

These guys have been testing their drone delivery company and are based out of Toronto.
However, their units deploy to the remote north, they’ve been over my city - Thunder Bay, and many other out of the way places.
The box like structure of the images and from the video, hint to me of something similar.

You need to catch up with the times, the shapes are quite varied, and they can be "pointy".

Looks to be some sort of swamp gas propelled Chinese lantern. Haven't seen one of those in years. But there around it seems.

I still havent heard back from the witness.
But Ill update with this - the meta data does not match the report.

Witness report says the sighting took place on November 27, 2020 at 18:45.

The meta data tells a different tale:



Of course, that could be due to a couple of things and not intentionally deceptive.
He used a digital camera to record the event and the date and time was incredibly off.
Or he used a cell phone that doesn't have the "Set Automatically" option turned on.

If I had to go with one of those, id have to say the first option.
But that's just a guess.

I sent the witness another email today trying to make contact.
Hopefully i get a reply.

In the meantime though, I think I already solved it.

Heres a screenshot from the video when slowed down to .25 speed.
It appears to be a star shaped balloon.

Thanks for that Mac, that puts it to bed for me.

I was thrown by how strong the light reflection was. Looks like lights.

The fact he hasn't replied to you yet is a big red flag too.

Yeah, the reflection coming off the balloon does look like actual lights at some points.
I used google earth to find the direction the sighting took place -
We can see The Great Canadian Bagel - a store visible in the video.
And in the report he says he was on Simcoe street - which is where the bagel shop is located.
Then I lined it up and got the direction he was facing - NNW.

With the event happening in the early evening,
the sun was setting in the West, and is what caused those reflections.

It was definitely an interesting case.
