That looks awful and I am sorry that you watched it.

But really, crop circles are passé and every “sceptic” says they know the source: Doug and Dave, two local drunks with some planks of wood... uh, ohkay.

My thoughts are that this should be taken seriously. And a mystery is one method of doing that.

If it is art, fine, problem solved.

What if it is not??

In many cases the lure appeals more to the fisherman than the fish.

Is that some Confusious or Aesop right there or what?

I make metal art and had ideas of literally defacing structures to weld on rose bushes I crafted from steel but decided against it because it is selfish to do, I wonder what the motivation is to make and install these things?

WHY? Matty Mo did the Utah one and they all triangulate, whatever the hell that is...

I'm sure Phage will be giving us the mathematical odds of this actually happening any day now...

Okay, I didn’t know that had been confirmed.

Is he in the U.K or just a copy cat?

I was quasi hired to make a person a whole garden out of steel, brass, and copper. I did quite a bit of work and never got paid so for awhile I had a bunch of hyper realistic metal sculptures in my possession I made and never got paid for. I got drunk one night and thought wouldn't it be funny If I installed this metal garden across lamp post down a city block overnight? I didn't do it instead I re-appropriated it to a friends grave site.

If this was by a well known artist AND the original the people that tore it down may well be kicking themselves since it may have been worth a pretty penny or two.

Hey Brotherman I knew an artist, peripherally nice guy though, in Lancashire, he did some of the Lion sculptures to replace old eroded ones on the Thames in London and could pretty much turn his hand to anything, he was even commissioned by Blackpool council to do one of a famous comic but as typical getting paid by them was like getting blood out of a stone.
So yes commissions but sometimes they fall through, still at least you are doing something that makes you happy and it sound's like quite successfully as well, nice one.

Well this one is more shiny then the one in Utah which you could see the rivet holes, though that one was standing for years before people discovered it. The one in Romania somebody did a crappy welding job at putting it together. The one in California was a bit better quality before it got taken down. But still.

In all I give this one on the isle of wight a 6 out of 10. The others were at most a 3 or 4 out of 10. Meh! So, so.

Is that true? Can you prove that? If so that's pretty wild.

Something I read years, ten plus years, ago. I can't prove it anymore, sadly.

Here is the chap who made it. His name is Tom Dunford.

A designer has told the BBC he erected a monolith on a British beach in tribute to others which have popped up around the world. The pillar, similar to ones in the US and Romania, sparked global headlines after it was found on the Isle of Wight off the south coast of England. Tom Dunford, who lives on the island, said: "I did it purely for fun."
