Mysterious Monolith discovered on Isle of Wight

Tom Dunford, 29, was out walking the dog with his fiancee and sister at 7.30am on Sunday when he saw the mysterious mirrored object ahead of them on the island's Compton Beach.

He told Sky News: "We went down the steps and to the right about 100 yards in front us we saw this big reflection of the sun.

"I knew about all the monolith stories recently, so I recognised it straight away."

Utah , Romania , California and now the Isle of Wight, time to start plotting the coordinates to discover where they're going to land.


Given the year we've had who'd bet against Aliens turning up this year , tin foil hats on my friends we could have guests coming for Christmas.

Now that's a monolith! I mean, it's almost identical to the Utah monolith, but that shine! The reflectiveness makes it otherworldly.

This one is way more stylish than the US and Romanian versions.

I wonder if the first one was an art project,then the rest are copycats-but just by copying the idea they are changing and evolving it into a global art project.

That must be a cool feeling for the person who put the first one in Utah.

It's beautiful and mysterious. I wonder where the next one will appear? Maybe the Isle of Man.

I was also wondering if anyone is mapping out the locations of these-Because theres always the chance they are by the same person or a group who are laying out a puzzle of some kind.

Maybe the lat/long values have been chosen to be used in a code of some kind?
It could be a treasure map left by some rich eccentric type.

I am hoping its something like that rather than some viral marketing campaign.

Thats 2 miles away from me I'm gonna check it out in the morning...

Not seeing any video of this one.

It's possible that some companies will clam that they heard of a monolith just for easy clicks and views.

But I don't see why this couldn't be some artist or a group of them.
It is fishy that all these stories are the "random person suddenly finds monolith" type.
Feels staged.

And then this is rumored.
