Destruction of civilization benefits the ruling elite?

We are witnessing the destruction of civilization, that much is clear. But how does this benefit the ruling elite that are running things?
We know that they are evil and some say that they are insane as well. Maybe that is an explanation.

I am interested to see what others think on this subject?

You are quite correct. Every great civilization has fallen in part thanks to wealthy, corrupt oligarchs who care only for themselves.

In almost perfect contrast when a civilization decides to correct the ills the elite have indulged in it prospers.

Yet mankind never learns from history. The same story played out countless times, with the exact same result.

We are simply unfortunate enough to be living at that time in our civilization’s cycle.

Civilization has met much larger hurdles, the Bronze age collapse, and the fall of the Roman empire comes to mind.

What's happening now is more of a growing pain to the next step.

I agree. The Roman Empire did not fall. It changed direction. The Dark Ages weren't dark, either. They were a time of great inventions. Civilization is not falling. The ATS crowd simply has a very warped notion of history and reality.

That's the trouble with making a premise..or two, especially when contradictory...

If youre about to lose control a hail mary of near destruction or creating a pandemic cant hurt. Worst that will happen is you will lose control Most likely result is you maintain control b/c you have all the power already.

Still here kicking and screaming all day and all night long.

All 7.594 billion+ souls.

The Human race is running along and has been for at least a couple of hundred thousand years.

Probably more like 100 million.

This is true. There was a bit of bias toward Rome by the scholars of the Germanic people after they abandoned Roman traditions in favor of their own, but I think most people think of the iron-clad grip of the church during the middle ages as being the crux of the dark ages. Most don't think of all the innovations that came out of that era.

Wealth transfers.

The 'elite', are focused on commandeering our natural resources, parks, minerals, fresh water, land, etc...
They want control over the natural wealth of this world, and us pesky humans are in their way.

But we're still perhaps useful a bit, so they'll just pile us up in little people-boxes in the cities, while we own less and less, and they own more and more.

Money has no value, unless used to buy physical assets.
It's a tool they use to manipulate us, to do their bidding.

But am just guessing, and don't really know anything.

The a nation that sits on many waters and makes all the merchants of the earth rich is therefore New Babylon, China is the rider on the Red Horse, an EMP attack would cause the destruction of modern US civilization and the US would be no more.

Its all about location location location and the LDS are the only ones with a Pre-Plan in place......to meet at specific places .... in Groups.....in Tents....50 feet apart....the DUMBS will fail.....turn into big microwave ovens...... you can dig your own shelter and have the same degree of survivability.

And...the LDSers have to get the locations right.

Oddly enough the Roman empire didn't really end until 1812 when the Holy Roman Empire fell to the Ottoman Empire. Though that is nothing to the Egyptian Empire that was well established for 4000 years before King Tut's time, and even before that people lived in the Nile valley. It's strange how insignificant we are when compared to the classical Empires.
