haha, sorry I could not resist with Chinese fishing fleet's being a bit of a scourge around the world at the moment (you can certainly understand China's need though with all there crops having been ruined by the flooding - if they asked I am sure the world would pitch in to help them through the disaster but no they just claim other people's seas and then go and trawl everywhere else which is frankly idiotic and greedy on there part - a little like the French - fishing British waters they were doing it even before the common fisheries policy of the EU and had back then to be constantly shepherded out of British waters by our then more capable navy - but in China's case on a more MASSIVE and GLOBAL scale, certainly pan pacific and even trespassing within other nations territorial waters and exclusive fishing zones on the coast of the America's, both arctic circles and probably around into the south Atlantic by now I should not be too surprised, they may get a nasty surprise if they try to fish the Falkland's exclusion zone though).

That said and joking aside SHOULD we be worried that they have now mastered this while we have gone backward in the west, even when we had the prime method of doing this the Space Shuttle which could have assembled a superior lunar vehicle in orbit we did not use it.

That said that is only in the Public Sphere and who knows what the US military space capability really is since it is pretty much classified well above top secret, just maybe? they do have a space fleet.

Moon probe preparing to return rock samples to Earth

The probe “has completed sampling on the moon, and the samples have been sealed within the spacecraft,” the China National Space Administration said in a statement.

Plans call for the upper stage of the probe known as the ascender to be launched back into lunar orbit to transfer the samples to a capsule for return to Earth. The timing off its return was not immediately clear and the lander can last up to one moon day, or 14 Earth days, before plummeting temperatures would make it inoperable.

The moon rocks and debris were sealed inside a special canister to avoid contamination.

It wasn’t clear when the linkup would occur. After the transfer, the ascent module would be ejected and the capsule would remain in lunar orbit for about a week, awaiting the optimal time to make the trip back to Earth.

And all the time photographing the surface in extreme detail as they try to piece together what the US may have been hiding with all those smudged lunar images and if they too can go and retrieve any possible ancient relics to give a boost to there own military and scientific establishment I shouldn't guess.

Space is the high ground in more than one area, the information that may have been recovered has made some people very rich under the umbrella of keeping it secret so that they can patent it when it is reverse engineered and sit on other technology's until they can reverse engineer them and it all boil's down to money not national security, it has become national security now because any weapon systems inspired by or derived from ancient human technology left over from previous advanced civilization on the moon or elsewhere within the solar system may now be also retrieved by enemy's of the US and the West in General.

It is actually though a crime akin to the burning of the library of Alexandria or even worse if some small minded prick DID order ancient artifacts such as the REAL black knight satellite, any structure on the moon or Mars to be destroyed and if such an order was given if was most certainly and definitely NOT for national security but for the sake of a tiny elite whom have used hidden knowledge as a mean's of control and power.

Of course it does not matter which group of self entitled little men get there hands on such information and then destroy it so no one else can have it the result for humanity is the same, idiot's in charge only interested in there own furtherment at the expense of the development of there race and world which they are artificially hamstringing to keep there grip on power.

IF there were aliens there (- or mutated humans living in underground complex's since the fall of that ancient civilization - and whatever that may mean to us about the possible dangers of the universe in general was it attacked by TRUE alien's? or the victim of a solar fluctuation or some other event perhaps?) then that throw's another spanner into the works, possibly also another resource, whose system of government would there's be most like?.

Some great display China is putting up.
Landing on moon, grabbing some rocks, blasting it of into lunar orbit, catching the carier with another satelite and sending it bloody home. All fully automated. Even if the last part doesnt play out it is a bloody good show. If they pull this off they have a first. This isn't a tag, its a full moonlanding, bringing home stuff.

It is a big heads up for the rest of the world. Lets race!

Yeah but they're just doing what they always do - releasing the information in stages. They've made all their data available for all their missions, they just make sure they haven't made mistakes or that nothing has gone wrong first.

China like to claim they have the most detailed map of the entire lunar surface, which is true, but glosses over the fact that other probes have much higher resolution in parts. JAXA, ISRO and NASA all have higher resolution data than China's lunar orbital imagers also have the distinct disadvantage in that they all show the surface with the sun directly overhead, which means there are no shadows to bring out details and hep identify features.

Yeah this has been thoroughly debunked already. The image the guy has on his desk just shows a grid superimposed over the area they were targetting for impact by the LCROSS probe. Dr Colaprete has stated this quite clearly himself. No images exist taken by anybody showing anything on that site.

This is just TV fodder full of empty nonsense. It gets basic facts wrong, like claiming the lunokhod was somehow the Soviets leading the space race (the first one didn't lands until 1971) and that a piece of equipment physically attached to Apollo 16 was a UFO.

It is poor quality, and for that reason you can't draw any conclusions from it. Far better to use much better telesscopic images of the moon, or those taken by probes from the 5 nations that have put imaging devices around it.

The crater he identifies as Clavius isn't Clavius, it's one called Wurzelbauer. It also claims to be taken with a Nikon P1000 camera, which is odd because the image is upside down and he doesn't sound Australian. The bit he zooms in on is very conveniently hidden behind the 'C' in his original and is a collection of satellite craters surrounding Heinsius and Gauricus. It's 20 km long. You will find no buildings in any high quality image taken by anyone anywhere with anything - there are plenty of amateur telescope views of it that you can check. He's looking at crater walls and mounds. Pareidolia is doing the rest.

This one starts off by highlighting a completely fabricated piece of alleged conversation from Apollo about aliens - it never happened. It then moves on to a complete fraud. Nothing he says is true.

There are no aliens there, there are no structures or bits of technology other than the things we have sent there. Nothing photographed or filmed by any of the countries that have been there shows anything remotely like what is being claimed.

This is, I think, the first automatic docking of two spacecraft around the moon - a remarkable achievement.

They've certainly proved they have the skills to send and return something unmanned to the moon and back. The difficult bit is a rocket with enough oomph to launch a crewed payload, with all the oxygen and other consumables that entails.

America's 2024 target is hanging by a weak gossamer thread, and it wouldn't surprise me if China beats them to that.
