What are you talking about? Stake to the heart is for vampires. You have to fill their mouth with salt and sew their lips together. You need to study Carl Kolchak, The Night Stalker.

Do not under any circumstances burn or incinerate a zombie as that link suggests. It will make your skin itch to start with. See 'Return of the Living Dead'

Most effective way to take down a zombie is decapitation. Nothing like a big bada$$ machete.
