Sometimes we’re our own worst enemies... none of this left vs right politics BS makes a significant difference to our personal lives in the long run. Unless you let it

There will always be ups and downs, no matter who’s in power, but it’ll just keep flowing like it always has.

Ridiculous. You have zero foresight, I guess. And zero ability to see that our freedoms are being stripped from us. I served my country. Did you? Usually the ones who didn’t serve are the ones saying the dismissive crap you just said.

What a great post! And even greater synchronicity as I woke up this morning with sadness in my heart concerning this very subjects.
I grew up in a communist country and I know all the misery and fear that it brings with it. No food on supermarket's shelves, rationalized food, electricity, heat, two hours of TV in the evening of mostly propaganda. You don't own nothing, you are own by the state, and you must be grateful for that.
Those who could flee where considered lucky, those who were caught disappeared to never be heard of again. The worst part was the utter lack of any individual liberty, or hope or dream. Is the most damning and depressing feeling to live with.
So in 1989, I was 18 years old at that time, we stood up and made a revolution along with all the Europe, because we wanted to be free. It was bloody and ugly but we were sure that if we do what it takes we will live better than our parents.

Unfortunately it was not enough; the regime changed but the people were too indoctrinated to just snap out of it. The rotten system was running too deep to be cleaned up by the same generation, and maybe not even by the next.
So I left my country forever at the age of 26 because I wanted to live in a true free country. Is not easy to be an expat but I raised my two kids here and thanked God everyday for the privilege to live in a place that values individual freedom.

Yet 30 years later I see the same dark specter rising again and my heart is stricken with fear and sadness because I realize that people have no idea what danger they are playing with. I see how things are being pushed toward the chaos, all the farce of BLM, all the "racial justice" and "equality" crap, all the climate change scare, all the international accords made with globalization in mind, all the Covid scam, all the media propaganda and now the fraudulent election; there are a lot of forces pushing toward one thing and one thing only. The great reset. It's all too familiar; same evil, different name.

And the scariest thing is that the enemy is within already. You must realize this: the communism was not brought by some evil ruler and forced upon people over night. It was built and sustained by the people themselves. The huge masses who were indoctrinated and promised paradise on earth, the same innocent people who chant equality and justice brought the greatest calamity on themselves.

Millions died when communism was implemented, and millions more to get rid of it. I don't care if is called communism, or "the green new deal" or "social justice", or "democratic socialism", the purpose is the same. To enchant and lure you in giving up your freedom, your ownership, your power, your individuality to a chosen few - who know better than you what you need.

So I'm looking towards America and I realize how much is at stake now. I realize how many clueless people are ready for this already, and how they will be sent against the rest of you. You will be the last obstacle between them and the promised paradise. Is not a foreign enemy, is not the government troops, is the people next to you and that is breaking my heart.

I truly hope with all my heart it will not come to this; that the "silent majority" will be enough to stop this. I'm not American but I root for you because you were always a beacon of light for the rest of the world. And I'm telling you this: if you fall all of us will fall.
So I wish and hope you have the strength and the wisdom to stop this for you and for all of us. It's up to you now!

You put yourself in harms way for the man but the man doesn't care about what you want.

If your grace reaches its limit and you act, you may very well be put down by someone just like you, who put themselves in harms way for the man.

It isn't your country, it was never your country. They just made you think so to get what they could from you.

Well, at least it sound kinda cool in a nihilistic way.

Nihilism is useless.

Existence matters and how we conduct ourselves while we're here matters.

The 8th paragraph ends saying that you are "absolutely scared to death". The 12th paragraph says "you can't scare me". Can you detect a contradiction there?

When you were in Afghanistan, were you being peaceable, were you? Because in Afghanistan, under US military policing, there have been 2,372 U.S. military deaths and 16,179 civilian deaths as part of that 'peacekeeping'. So much for those actions "peacefulness".

You said you would "die and kill" to ensure the safety of your family, something that was systematically denied to others at the hands of the forces you fought with. All collateral in a fight you probably barely understood, or either personally or nationally, gained anything at all out of.

You may not want all these idealistic things that you fear, where others are hoping to give prosperity and a fair share to everyone. Perhaps if you looked into what they are doing, and why, you might realize that those who have told you how to think and act for most of your life, are no better informed or wiser than anyone else. It is fear of change, feeding fear of change, feeding ongoing destruction.

I think that you feel strong and justified only when you are the one holding the gun. That isn't peace. That is oppression and you are its tool. They keep you in place with more fear of change.

Don't be trodden on. Don't be a doormat.

It may seem like it. But one day, when you have kids and something to really lose, you might understand that fear.

The idea that another man can scare me with death? That's a different story.

There is historic precedence already.

Doesn't change the fact that things are going to change and when they do, not everyone is onboard with the direction.

It doesn't matter if you want this, that or the other.

Yes, it does matter. Because I do not exist in a vacuum. Neither do millions of others.

It really doesn't if an overwhelming majority heads off in a direction you don't want.

Elections are a perfect example of that. Millions vote for one person and their candidate loses. What are they going to do? I mean besides bitch and moan about it.

Well your soul chose to be here for the final struggle
We hear of sheep
We hear of wolves
but not too often of sheep dogs, which is what I like to call myself for those I love and care about
the deal was I pay my taxes and you largely leave me alone
well that contract is broken and humanity is looking at a very dark future.
There are things worth dying for and there are lines that should not be crossed.
No one lives forever...

I have kids and grandkids and my eldest son has even, sadly, passed away. Perhaps he would still be alive if they had spent more money on medicine and less on warfare?

I also had a military background in my youth. But I woke up to it. I am very cynical about the motives and actions of the military industrial complex. They aren't on the side of peace. They spend all their lives planning and gearing up for war. It's their job! And the weapons will always escalate beyond the ken of those who would regulate them. And the money just keeps rolling in.

There's stacks more I could point out, but you have been there, in those situations. Why? Why do they do it like that?

It's corrupt, evil and obscene. And no matter how many soldiers wasted their lives on foreign field, it doesn't guarantee safety for family back home. They can nuke and drone and CBW everyone, everywhere, at whim, all they need is a good reason to release the dogs and rake up the money.

Glad there's something there to relate to.

We're all a bunch of monkeys winging life and pretending to have it all down.

The simulation is broken.

The only question is — what are we individually and collectively, going to do about it?

Take things one step at a time, support the system trying to sort it out. Listen to Trump before doing anything stupid. If things go worst case scenario, expect around 15 Million armed and ready citizens for Trump.

Sounds like a civil war? You would invite civil war over Trump losing?

No. It is a potential risk considering the situation, lot of strong political forces clashing. Last time a President tried to clean up the CIA, he did not get far, they play rough. Just a heads up and where I see the support is from the other side of the World.

Looks like the President is doing well, fixing up drug prices gets a lot of the leaches of the medical market. What happens inauguration is a good marker for how it all plays out. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

That makes sense, cheers for clearing it up. It does worry me that the US has become so bipartisan that this election could bring about a civil war or even just civil disorder (that would be ugly enough)

I hope cooler heads prevail. I hope Biden carries on his plan to work with Reps and manages to pull the country together. I know this makes me an idealist in some eyes but I can dream.

Your story about your younger years sounds similar to mine.

I wish you could come to Australia - I don't want a great reset either and I would proudly stand by your side fighting for what is ours
