Are you insinuating that this might just be a last ditch propaganda grab by a government whose on there last breath?

Because, that sounds like blatant blasphemy too me.

A man like Trump would obviously never put himself first above the masses.

Doesn't Afghan have the largest and I mean the largest military base in the world there.

Seems like I read it somewhere.

And this crap about China is going to take over Afghanistan I don't think so.

Unless they wipe out the whole people in that Nation.

And Biden is not going to send our troops back into Afghanistan that would be a death wish for him.

To be clear this pullout isn't a full one. It's something like a 1000 from one and 500 from another, leaving 2500 or so in each.

It's a talking point for him.

One which may very well leave remaining troops at higher risk with few personnel. Thus the pentagon push-back.

He could cure cancer and people like you would be trying to tell us that leaves the gate open for even worse illnesses.

If he were trying to cure cancer with bleach injections, yes.

Biden is the one trying to cure cancer..

But on topic.
Bring everyone home.

Afghanistan is the graveyard of Empires.

If China want to go into that quagmire after the US they should feel free to do so. It may hasten the inevitable demise of the Chinese Communist Party.

Maybe so but he's right. I heard it on Hannity today.

Seems to be a few vets in here who think it's a good thing. Does Hannity trump their lived experience?

Four senior officials at the Pentagon, including Defense Secretary Mark Esper, were fired or resigned on Monday and Tuesday. Trump loyalists took their place. Two senior officials at the Department of Homeland Security were forced to resign this week as well.

IMHO One of Trump's greatest accomplishments was no new wars.

Despite the WW3 that we were told he would start.

To all who proclaim this will endanger those who remain following withdrawal, is not the obvious solution a full withdrawal? Opposition to this seems merely a desparate attempt to prolong an idiotic, pointless and futile war.

I remember Obama campaigning on withdrawing from Iraq and Afghanistan. That was 12 years ago. Despite that i can’t help but notice the US occupation of Afghanistan continues. How much longer must this war go on?

Pretty sure Osama Bin Laden died 9 years ago, and in Pakistan of all places (or so the official story goes), so that can’t be the reason anymore. I don’t think the CIA’s opium production offsets the cost of the war.

He promised to close a certain Cuban prison too...
Amazing what people will believe when a politician makes a promise.

I think what some fear — Is Trump not doing it the right way.

Trump doesn’t have a clue what he is doing — and is replacing high ranking military positions with his sycophants.

Yes please!

As a 14 year active duty Air Force veteran, I couldn’t be more thrilled with the idea of bringing our troops home. That war is a drain on our resources, military morale, and our national debt.

Do this, and follow through with it!

You're pathetic.

Why isn't "peace" the universal answer?

Military leaders refusing to follow direct orders from their commander in chief is borderline treason.

Anyway, the correct way is to bring everyone home within 2 weeks. Air Mobility Command exists for a reason. If the US military cannot transport a mere 8,000 men & equipment home in a timely fashion the leadership is clearly incompetent and that should worry democrats and republicans alike.

Good on Trump, I'll take these sorts of "slights" against the establishment any day of the week.

Set up the next guys to look like dicks if they put the troops back... Because if they do, they certainly are, in fact, I put that politely.

I'll take pardons of Snowden, Assange, release of information only if it benefits the public and doesn't put anyone in direct danger, and other things of that sort.

Maybe even an EO legalizing weed to stimulate the economy. Set up politicians who hate money and freedom if they protest.
