Somebody or some group has been trying to hack into my system every time I visit ATS. I have a list of your failed attempts spanning the past few months. If this does not stop, I will forward all of your IP addresses to admin. Besides, unless you are interested in hearing Creedence Clearwater Revival mp3's, there's really nothing to discover.

Thanks William, will do within the next couple of days!

Cassini, one way of detecting these things is to get yourself a couple different firewall programs.

MKULTRA and cassini, you're not alone. When I come to ATS, sometimes, my PC is scanned and someone try to connect to my PC. Each time it's a different IP.

And Cassini, if you have a firewall, normally it has a security log. You'll find the attacking IP there.

P.S : Most of these IP are coming from the USA. But I don't mind, because my firewall stopped what these so-called hackers were trying to do.

Just a quick question - are there any good FREE firewalls, or are the ones you have to pay for the only ones worth using?

I downloaded it.......and have had 9 hacking attempts in 10 minutes. I don't understand much of the information Zonealarm gives you, but surely I shouldn't be getting these many alerts!!??!! What is happening???

ok, in 5 minutes it went from 9 attempts to 14 attempts........WTF!!!

If you believe you are a target to hacking attempts while using ATS, please do not delay in getting the information to me as quicky as you can!

If you're not in a hurry to get me the information about systems you believe are attempting to attack you while using this site, I must assume the danger does not exist, and this post is just more alarmist noise.

Will, what information do you need? I'm a complete "bozo" when it comes to interpreting computer data and such.....
Do you want to know the IP adresses of the "hackers"?

If you really want to be safe, you should get a firewall (zone alarm is good) and an IDS (Intrusion Detection System). The firewall will only try to hide/plug ports. With a port scanner, they can easily find a way in. If they get past that, you will be in some trouble. This is where your IDS comes in. If the person would try to get in with you using that, it would detect them messing with your computer and would alert you. Then at the point it could be up to you. If you have a lock on your firewall (and/or IDS), you could turn that on and cut their connection. Other wise you have to find a different way to cut them out. It is simple: pull the line out of the wall.

To find a IDS, just search for it on google. There are free versions.

I keep getting email with an attachment that sais "your_details.zip" I have the feeling that someone on ATS sends me those emails. I was looking for a video of the F-117 Have blue, and a few days later I got an email with the subject "video" and again the attachment "your_details.zip" so it's not an automatic spam email, I'm pretty sure about that.
I have already got it 5 or 6 times already, but only once my website's email provider announced me that an email containing the attachment "your_details.zip" contained a virus. If I receive it again I'll give the details to you william...

I agree with Zion Mainframe. I thought as him some month ago.It seem I was a target for someone.Hacking attempts and weird email ( virus, trojan, i-worm and so on...). That person forgot me some weeks after when she saw it was not possible to hack me.

Somewhere on my HD, there is a txt file, who contains the IP adress.I'll take a look. Hell, I'm not even sure that I kept it.

cheers for the advise. Will keep a note of the IPs now I see where to get them from. Does n`t seem to have anything other than todays log on there though so can`t provide any other attacks.

Hey, guys, could one of you post a script on how to check on these attempts and get the IPs?

Thanks.

Wow...checking my Firewalls logs certainly comes up with interesting reading:
