Yes, folks. I actually had to read the title twice before I did a double take. Escaped, cloned and an all female army of asexually breeding crayfish clone monsters have invaded a cemetery and are digging deep into the dirt and eating anything they can get their ummm, claws on. You only need to drop one near any water supply for it to multiply rapidly and become quite unstoppable.

“It’s impossible to round up all of them. It’s like trying to empty the ocean with a thimble,” said Kevin Scheers of the Flemish Institute for Nature and Woodland Research.

Marbled crayfish, which travel across land and water at night and eat whatever they can, do not occur in nature and are banned by the European Union.

Instead the freshwater beasts, which are about 10cm big and voracious, are thought to have been bred by unscrupulous German pet traders in the 1990s.

They are similar to the slough crayfish found in Florida but are parthenogenetic, which means they reproduce with themselves and all their children are genetically identical females.

It's just a matter of time before they find their way into the swamplands of Florida or maybe in your own backyard. Yikes!

We need to nuke Belgium before they can spread.

LOL. I was just thinking the same thing! Nuke-ing the cemetery but the whole country would do!

I don't look at it that way anymore.
Here's how I see it now:

"Wow there are still animals alive after all we did to kill earth life? Amazing. That means there is still food for the chain to continue on tomorrow.
I bet they will make excellent meals for all sorts of other animals."

Wait I thought the goal was to prevent reproduction even if they had sex?

I think you got it backwards.
We would overpopulate the world within a few decades easily.
If you thought it was bad now wait until we can just pop out more humans without even having to find a mate.

Easy fix: Just create some even gnarlier fast-reproducing genetic mutant to to hunt them down and eat them all.
Yeah yeah, that's the ticket!

It's the lizard overlords that get to reproduce, us useless eaters get the chains.

Sounds like the perfect solution to regions with famine problems.

Yes they are. They only pose problems to established ecosystems as they reproduce very aggressively.

Strangely enough I'm so disconnected with humanity that I don't really take part in any ceremony.

I definitely don't go to weddings or care about funerals or anything. I don't do Xmas or 4th of July or anything. It seems so bizarre to me and I don't think it makes much sense.

I wish I could be "normal" like everyone sometimes but then again I don't that's why I'm specifically not. Usually any time I think to myself I want to be normal too I quickly shoot it down reminding myself how foolish that idea truly is and I'm just wishing it because my inner feelings of emptiness are challenging to deal with.

In the same vein I think I probably hold a delicious funeral for every burger I ever ate, though I paid my compliments to the chef.
