What fish is caught in UK waters?
In the UK, we export most of the seafood we catch in our waters. This is because foreign seafood markets greatly value UK species, such as langoustine, crab and mackerel, while domestic consumers focus their purchases on a smaller range of species, such as cod, salmon and haddock.

How much is the EU fishing industry worth?
In terms of output, the EU's aquaculture sector was the eighth largest worldwide, with a 1.6 % share of the volume of global output in 2016. The value of the EU's aquaculture production was an estimated EUR 5.1 billion in 2017, about two fifths of the total value of the EU's total production of fishery products

How much is the GB fishing industry worth?
The UK's fishing and fish processing industries employ 24,000 people and contribute 1.4 billion pounds (€1.6 billion, $1.8 billion) to the UK economy, according to a House of Commons research library briefing. That is a mere 0.12% of GDP involving under 0.1% of the UK's 33-million national workforce.

Peanuts, comming out of GBs pocket

EU fisheries panic: Dutch fishermen's desperate plea amid Brexit talks - 'Please, Boris!

Customs duties of €2.08 billion a year would be added to the cost of German cars bought by British consumers under a “no-deal” Brexit, a trade body in Berlin warned yesterday.

The figure represented the 10 per cent duty that would be charged on German vehicles exported to Britain if a “hard Brexit” led to trade under World Trade Organisation rules. Extra costs could also be incurred by new tariffs on car parts.

You guys will be paying more for the same german cars, you can't get anywhere else, than your entire fishing industry is worth.
You won't get beamers from the US, those are called chevys and fords.

I'm not trying to insult you here, you brought this on yourself. Without realizing whats going to happen.

Well, in all fairness, they will be allowed to fish in UK waters, but under the rules of the UK. So long as the EU agree to that; even with a "no (trade) deal". Remember it's only the EU who bizaarly think fisheries et al should be attached to a trade deal.

Through time, and from the start, the EU trawlers will take less fish and do so in more sustainable ways.

The terrible Common Fisheries Policy (like the Common Agricultural Policy) has been an affront. The CFP has led to over-fishing, abuse of quotas and the destruction of large parts of the marine eco-system due to destructive practices. It also originally led to the destruction of the UK fishing industry, but that's history, but useful to remember when you see Macron and his robost crying-on.

Unlike the EU treatment of the UK fishing industry, at least the UK will act sensitively and gradually, should the EU want to go down that road. A “no deal” will continue to allow EU trawlers access, but probably at reduced levels of tolerance as there won’t be negotiations. Maybe had the EU not allowed the Mediterranean fisheries to be destroyed then the French and the Spanish would not be in such a state, eh?

But more of a problem for BMW than for us besides many cars are made here anyway and many of the cars driven here are Japanese , I drive a Mazda.

Our fishing industry is just that , our fishing industry and it's about time someone stood for them and their interests.

Oh, I don't know. Most Brits who voted "leave" knew exactly what they were doing and what would happen. They have just been frustrated it has not happened yet.

Problem is that most people in the EU have not clocked where the EU is going. The nation state in the EU will be a thing of the past in the next couple of decades. That is not what the majority of the people in the UK wanted. But no doubt we'll come and save you again from killing each other, for the sixth time!

Is there a law that says The British have to purchase German Cars ? Or French and Italian cars.

Like most consumers The Brtish will buy value for their money. That maybe Japaneese, Korean or UK built vehicles.

BMW and other German cars are over priced anyway. And you never know if they have fiddled the emissions.

Michel Barnier is now en route to London ahead of the resumption of talks , this round is set to last until Sunday although if Michel and his team aren't willing to compromise they will no doubt finish sooner.

n a statement announcing the resumption of talks, No 10 spokesperson said it was "entirely possible that negotiations will not succeed".

But, they added: "We are ready, with the EU, to see if it is possible to bridge them in intensive talks."

In line with a demand made by the UK, both sides will resume talks on all subjects based on proposed legal texts prepared by officials.

They have also agreed that "nothing is agreed" until progress has been reached in all areas - which has been a key demand of the EU.

An "initial phase" of face-to-face talks will run until Sunday, with subsequent negotiations planned in both Brussels and London.

An equitable deal is what suits us both Monsieur Barnier , we will not be bullied.

Yes, there is law actually. It's called 'supply and demand' And its worth 20 billion euros a year.

Here's how it goes :
-Oi Oi, u see that thick AMG? I want it.
-But you can get 7 toyota aygos for that money mate. Not to mention 4 times the MPG!
-You what mate? You what?

No white smoke yet but trade negotiations with EU Chief negotiator Michel Barnier which were due to end today have been extended until Wednesday.

After strong words from both sides and calls for "fundamental changes" to the approach to negotiations, a return to the table was agreed and Mr Barnier has been holding talks with UK chief negotiator Lord David Frost since Thursday.

On his arrival, Mr Barnier told reporters "every day counts" and the two sides shared a "huge common responsibility" in the talks.

The discussions had been expected to wrap up later on Sunday with the possibility of consequent conversations, but EU sources have told the BBC they will now continue in London for three more days, before moving to Brussels.

Mr Lewis said he was "always an optimist" around reaching a free trade agreement and he believed there was "a good chance we can get a deal".

But he told Andrew Marr: "The EU need to understand it is for them to move as well, so that we can get a deal that works for the UK as well - a proper free trade agreement that recognises us as the UK being a sovereign nation."
