Have you seen the movie?

The only pedophilia in that movie would be in your own mind — and that you chose to see it that way.

If anything — it’s anti-pedophilia.

Have you ever read about the director? The movie is practically autobiographical.

Go do some research my friend.

Lmao. These comments lol. Apply all of the comments in defense of the movie and swap the movie to Cuties, and watch the poo fly.

The same comments being made in defense of The Professional/Leon are the same comments made in defense of the movie Mignonnes/Cuties.

The only difference is one movie is better than the other.

No one has yet to bring up movies like Desire where the very first scene is a child getting off on a pillow.

No one has brought up that you can still buy the original Pretty Baby movie which does show full frontal child nudity and centers around child prostitution.

People getting pissy about this keep chasing films depicting the nature of such and ignoring that their own children are likely producing their very own child pornography for groomers on social media.

Go after Youtube which still shows highly suggestive acts by children and young teens. They only turned off comments and removed the most egregious videos.

Go after Twitter which still hosts CP. TikTok, Instagram, Facebook even. Even then, all of that content is user generated. So ask yourselves. Is it really social medias fault?

Or is it the adults who fail to be there for their children? For leaving them to social media all day to interact with anonymous strangers all day?

It used to be that kids would play and roam around outside all day and all parents would say is don't talk to strangers.

Now? Everyone started freaking out about how there were secretive pedo child molesters around ever corner and lurking around every playground. So, kids stay inside all day, yet talk to strangers online all day and seek validation through erotic dancing and baring skin or being attention seekers.

The kids aren't all right.

A whole bunch of people never seen Bastard Out of Carolina (could have sworn it was Carolina Bastard, but guess the title was longer after all)

That's a one & done viewing, VERY uncomfortable abuse subject matter that makes The Professional's tones look downright tepid.

Omg! I remember my Mother watching this when I was probably 7 or less.

Not a kids movie. Scarred for life.

Yep. That story is sordid.

Stay away from "A Serbian Film" if it's not too late.

Guy rapes a newborn baby in that movie.
And no it's not actually real, nor is it shown, but it is audible.

I am pretty sure if it hasn't been said already...

We can pin this on The Clintons, Obama, Soros, Pelosi and of course Biden. Lock them up and her parents!

Right?

You know a funny piece of world star trivia. I was once (yea sure, just once) arrested for property crimes as a child and processed at the juvenile assessment center. And do you know what they had on the tv in the waiting room in this JAC?? Effing Leon the professional I kid you not. I started laughing land pointed to my co-accused the irony. We were getti g loud so the lady at the desk asks us wtf is so funny your supposed to not be talking. When I mentioned the irony of this law enforcement office for holding juvenile offenders playing a video about a twelve year old assassin/murderer in the waiting area for accused kids, she just scoffed, said stay quiet and went about her business.

I'm glad they left it on, at least we had some quality entertainment while waiting for our angry parents to come get us. Oh man, that was twenty years ago, what a fond trip down memory lane.
Even then I had no idea about the questionable scene only found on the director's cut. It was playing on TV also.

What scene found in the Long Version is questionable?

A twelve e year old girl assassin trying to invite Her adult mentor into bed with her . I would say that qualifies as highly distasteful. They discussed it in the interviews/commentary but it was so long ago I barely remember any of the context. But the scenes of her helping murder all the bad guys is ok.

One especially funny one was where a guy who had already heard about all the hits with her involved began shooting through the door with his automatic talking trash. Leon was barely able to pull her out the way in time. He tells her "in times like this we have to get creative or they will be talking all day" he then proceeds to tell fella "what about the ring trick??" Guy keeps trash talking between shots then Leon pulls a grenade and tosses it through the gaping hole in the door, shaking the whole floor and shutting dude up. Looks at Matilda(Natalie) showing her the pin and says "that's the ring trick". Was probably the funniest scene in the extended cut imo.

Her pass at Leon occurs after the extended assassination scenes and just before the climax at the end. At least leon had enough class to educate her on why it wasn't happening. Even so, I don't think it was appropriate of the parents to even allow it.

Gary oldman shows up with a bunch of armed drug traffickers and they all proceed to have their asses handed to them on a silver platter that's what.

Oh, so nothing pervy then? Gotcha.

Glad there's a ton of outrage over the nothing.

It's a cringeworthy scene imo. Oh look it's on youtube.

I know it's not really a big deal to you, all the folks locked in your dungeon call you daddy anyways.

No, I think you're trolling right now or you have a serious memory issue.

Maybe both.

There's the Director's Cut too, which brings out the relationship between the two a bit more. In one scene, she misreads him, dresses up beyond her years and makes what could be read as a pass at Leon. The subtext is there, although it's subtle.

He shuts her down straight away and comes closer to anger than any other time.

Bottom line: they only have each other (and the potted plant) in a very hostile world and he is nothing but paternal towards her. Thing is he knows nothing but violence so he teaches her the means to avenge her family. It was never going to have a happy ending.

Some of the posts here remind me of a Charles Manson interview decades back. In a nation where kids take guns to school, some of you are indignant about a film that questions violence.
