I demand to know when we will start celebrating the Vikings?

You know, the REAL MEN, who got here first.

Great idea!

Columbus day should be changed to Viking day.
Vikings are white and Dems think all white people throughout history were evil.
Liberals are positive that white people have been historic and systemic racists since they were born
and evolved on the planet. So the liberal Democrats would not allow Viking Day for sure.

How about Native American day, but ... time.com...
DNA has showed that Native Americans
originated from Siberia,
white skinned people
with oriental like eye shapes
some have red hair, some black hair
So we can't do that either, because they have white skinned genes
which makes them ineligible as a group to celebrate their accomplishments
according to il-liberalism.

Oh, well, I do like the idea of cancelling it and making the first Tuesday in November an official US wide mandatory holiday, all businesses must close except essential services.

Went shopping today.

The sign on the store said “Columbus Day Sale”. So I just took whatever I wanted and the store clerk had the nerve to call the police.

False advertising.

A trifling mishap that should've been easy to clear up. You did tell them you were doing it in the name of God, right?

Indeed, those were real men. And the original party animals. Real men get plastered, maybe eat some funky mushrooms or henbane, wear bear (or wolf) skins, and go nuts.

Yeah, those dudes had some steely ones

Wow...dude must have been an ancient relative of Chuck Norris...enslaved all First Nation people...damn! I mean slavery is wrong but to enslave an entire country most of which you never actually visited...thats a whole new level of badass!

Well...speaking of discovery...its probably a good thing the Vikings didn't take the same interest in the land. I'm sure the inhabitants of the British Isles could tell some stories about that!

Hind sight is 20/20 and times are wayyyy different now than then. At the time everything Columbus did was normal for the era... Not only that but had been for a while in regards to conquering lands and the treatment of those they conquered. We should be glad that humanity has moved away from that way of life mostly. We still have a long way to go but we sure have come a long way in 5000 or so years.
