Strokes are horrible for anyone so I hope he is okay regardless of politics.

Could just have been a TIA, they can mess up speech temporarily but it could be a full on stroke, the good news is that it was probably caught very quickly which drastically improves outcomes because you could expect him to have had clot busting drugs or even clot retrieval pretty quick if he was appropriate for the treatment.

Hope he gets well soon.

That's not Covid, especially. That's age and high blood pressure. My mother had two, four years apart.
If he pulls through for the moment, his engagement in active life will be seriously impaired.

COVID will get everyone eventually, like a thief in the night

You do know when you say something like this it pretty much dumps everything you say or have opinion on right into the trash can. I hope you can do better, but I'm very skeptical....

Hopefully it was small, but they are scary when they happen.

I can't say I agreed with everything Ron Paul said, but I always gave him respect for being real. If he said it, he believed it. That's rare today and deserves respect.

That clip is hard to watch. Classic stroke. The good sign I saw was that he appeared to realize his mouth was malfunctioning... that tells me that Ron Paul is still there, just having trouble making his body do what he wants.

He is also apparently OK now. At least I hope so. A stroke is nothing to play with.

For those who seem to think it is strange that others care about him, I cared just as much every time RBG had an episode with cancer, I cared when John McCain was diagnosed with brain cancer, I cared when Ted Kennedy died, and I cared when Steve Scalise was shot. There are people in this world who are able to put health and suffering above the realm of politics. The fact that you cannot speaks nothing about us but volumes about you.

My prayers to Dr. Paul and his family for a complete and speedy recovery.

Exactly, no one wants anyone to suffer a nasty, horrible death just because they don't think like you do. At least most sane people don't.

There are a lot of insane people running around these days.

that is very concerning. I voted for him in 2012.

I hope he is okay.

Ron Paul may not be my cup of tea, but I don't dislike the guy. It's good see his face appears normal again in his post from the hospital. Get well soon Ron.

Time is the real killer, that's what will get us all eventually. It sucks, especially when I have to watch people like Ron Paul go through things like this. He seems to be fine now and I hope he has many good years left. He will always be my favorite politician and is definitely one of the most influential libertarians of all time, a lot of my political philosophies were spawned due to Ron Paul and I know that's true for a lot of other people here too.

Yes, yes it does. The sooner the better.

I'd wager Ron Paul would agree.

Ron Paul stopped me from being a Young Democratic Socialist lol. I was attracted at age perhaps 19 to the papers and regalia but I am not an idiot. The more I read the papers the more it read like dross written by desperate idiots.

But that is the kind of tripe that is rife on campuses to this day.

And look what happened. I am talking 20 years ago.
