OK, I’m redoing my computer and trying different browsers. Every time I change a browser they question my credentials. Accepted, but hell now because of my regular changing browsers they do not even accept their own code send to my Gmail and correct telephone number on their system. I can see bullsh_t and they can stuff their outlook.com account. Not really needed but just clinging to it because of the years I have it. I’m not filling in the new form that ask my whole life story – F that

Shhh.....
Microsoft has zilch to do with any browsers except Edge.
Aim your frustration at Google

Try Apple sometime.

No I’m not using iCloud.
No I’m not using Siri.
No I’m not giving you my fingerprint.
Please stop asking and take NO for an answer!

If you are having trouble with the user account creation during windows install then there is an option in the installer that allows you to install with a local account. Its tiny text at the bottom. If you unplug your ethernet cable maybe the installer is nicer about doing offline yser accounts? I never tried. I just know the local accoubt option is tiny text.

They use to have the option but they do not give it anymore.

They accept my username and password then the fun begin. "Due to unusual activity on your account I need to give an alternative Email and my telephone number then type in the distorted letters." Which they already have on their system, but fine, its protection

The next step is to type the code they send to that account, which my gmail account

Once that is done I'm told that they need more information to clarify my account

That is when I have to fill in a massif form with family email addresses + +. Didn't go through it all but I'm sure they will want to know what I had for breakfast

What ?
What has GMail got to do with Microsoft ?
Or Edge for that matter ?
That makes no sense.
An OS could give a sh__ less about what browser you use....

I believe . by what tiny bit I could gather , this is not about Microsoft .
This is about someone that does not know about 2FA and Google Authenticate.
I have no clue how Microsoft fits into that.

I could be wrong but I'm guessing that he's using different browsers to sign into his Microsoft account and his credentials keep getting questioned every time he tries to login.

Are you using a VPN by any chance ?

It's MS period. I get a pop up every day saying there is a problem with my MS account and it always says (most likely the password was changed). Change password and next day it still pops up and they want my phone number. NOT GONNA get it!

It's the cookies and what they store for future use 😃

Lots of people say Opera is the best browser for Windows(10) 😃

- Said every damn cell phone app in existence!

And my friends and family wonder why I seldom mess with my cell phone. I don't even install apps on it for that reason.

I feel ya though... Software has turned into the biggest information grab sham....
