Nothing to do with it?

Being told you cannot worship at all, even when you observe the rules, and getting arrested for it when you do?

Please re-read your first amendment and get back to me when you can find the bit about being able to tell a religion when it's not acting in faith and just acting to be political.

And even you are a big fan of peaceful assembly. They were definitely doing that and following the rules - outdoors, socially distanced in family groups.

- you cannot govern the unwilling. This is the gist behind the American system

I totally get that. So true.

“How’s your island” 🤣

And you sure can’t run a country of multiple beliefs & “nones” by one specific one.

Logic & reason addresses everyone.

Regarding the pastor: mask or no mask wasn’t the issue presented to me as a rebuttal.

The reason for their arrest had nothing to do with God.

My church holds virtual services.

The pastors will Zoom anyone who feels they need a one-on-one.

Plus individual members are personally contacting other members just to see how they’re doing and if they need anything.

The youth minister is hand delivering “work” packets to every child in her group. Every week.

They were arrested for holding church services. Are you claiming church services have nothing to do with God?

Quite the hateful statement coming from someone who professes to not knowing the religion.

No, they weren’t.

They were arrested for refusing to wear masks.

Which is law where they are.

I think the argument that the GOP are being hypocritical is specious at best because we’ve learned a lot since then and people change their minds given new information. The notion that one shouldn’t change his mind and must stand by what he said years ago is stupid.

We’ve since learned that the opposition will do anything to unseat the democratically-elected president, including abusing the powers of impeachment for political purposes, which at any rate, turned out to be a way to cover for their predestined candidate. All of it reeks of megalomania and power-grubbing. Given this, despite what they’ve said in the past, Trump and the GOP should move forward with a replacement.

Moscow Mayor Bill Lambert issued a public health emergency order Tuesday requiring face coverings to be worn in indoor and outdoor public settings where 6-foot social distancing cannot be maintained with non-household members.

Is Czar Bill Lambert a legislator?

We don't have royalty in the United States. An executive officer cannot simply decree a law into existence.

There was no law that required face masks. There was a decree from a self-appointed monarch that required face masks.

So, you’re just gonna keep making excuses for the lawbreakers — because God.

They broke a law/order/mandate, whatever. They got arrested for it. PERIOD!

It’s “black & white”.

You not agreeing with the law/mandate/order is irrelevant.

In the vein of "you cannot govern the unwilling", if people do not agree with a law, its completely relevant. Not wearing a mask is known as "civil disobedience" and is the most American thing someone can do. When Rosa Parks did it, she changed the entire nation.

Which is interesting, as Rosa Parks was actually the first woman to lie in state in the US. Not RBG, as media seems to want to claim.

So you agree with having a monarchy, as long as it gets rid of those damn Christians being in public?

Oh, that's not hateful... not like "keep those black people on their side of town!" Not at all.

I’m beginning to understand your debating style.

You don’t accept what anyone else says — even if it’s black & white.

Instead, you try to bend it to fit your narrative. That’s very narcissistic.

———————————

Back to original claim: arrested for being Christian in public.

Wrong.

FACT: arrested for not wearing mask in public. As ordered by mayor. Who has that right, whether you want to accept it or not.

I addressed your original claim, which is/was wrong.

I’m not interested in where you want to move it from there.
