Best of luck to them.
Then the New York Times can move to Seattle, we can move the wall over to the right, and make it a win-win for everyone.

wont happen, they will need money due to the fires

They'll need water too, and all of that comes from states farther east.

California's water comes from California. Less hype. More facts.

Where does my water come from?

Not true. 4.3% of California’s water comes from the Colorado River spanning watersheds in 8 states.

Yep, facts matter🙄

The watersheds that supply drinking water to 80% of California’s resident cover almost 157 million acres and span 8 states (Figure 1). These watersheds drain lands that include highly protected areas (e.g., wilderness areas) and those that have been developed (e.g., downtown Sacramento). From the map, it is clear that the Sierra Nevada mountains are an important source of water for the state of California, providing snowmelt for the many lakes and rivers that drain into the Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers. These rivers, in turn, supply water to the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, a water source that serves roughly 25 million Californians via the State Water Project. In addition, most southern California cities obtain some of their drinking water from the Colorado River, which originates in the mountains of Wyoming and Colorado, and then passes through and drains portions of Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada until it reaches Lake Havasu, on the border between Arizona and California. There, it is diverted into the Metropolitan Water District’s Colorado River Aqueduct which carries the water 242 miles to southern California.

Buried at the end of in this story is the idea that Democrats have said might have to be their last resort end game if Trump wins the election. www.nytimes.com...=https://t.co/kDEzgI0ejl

In that scenario, California, Oregon, and Washington then threatened to secede from the United States if Mr. Trump took office as planned. The House named Mr. Biden president; the Senate and White House stuck with Mr. Trump. At that point in the scenario, the nation stopped looking to the media for cues, and waited to see what the military would do.

This strategy can be found at the end of the article. Democrats, former (i.e. Obama) government officials, along with anti-Trump Republicans, apparently war gamed, Transition Integrity Project, in which they came to this conclusion. www.bostonglobe.com... The narrative has already begun with Biden saying Trump plans to steal the election.

Former vice president Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic nominee, has taken to issuing foreboding warnings of his own. “This president is going to try to indirectly steal the election by arguing that mail-in ballots don’t work — they’re not real, they’re not fair,” he said at a fund-raiser on Thursday night.

With Hillary openly telling Biden not to concede the election for any reason, we now know the real reason. The Democrats plan to refuse to accept the election results if Trump wins and begin a civil war.

It is frightening that there have been "war games" by top government officials planning for a civil war if Trump should win the election. Obviously, no matter the outcome liberals/leftists/and Democrats plan to not accept the results and to set fire to their already ongoing war against government (police) in the nations cities to the entire country.

Lots of projection on Biden's part...He knows the Dems are trying to steal the election and he knows that Trump and his supporters know it as well...It's the Democrats who are ignorant about this that Biden is playing because he knows the Democrats can be led around like a bunch of sheep...

Never happen...They couldn't survive without the Federal Gov't...They would be flooded with illegal immigrants with no way to support them...

If that really did happen it would be an American second civil war, if the California national guard and it's officers refuse to fight against federal troops it would be over before it began. And then the entire leadership of all of the political Californians that supported this from senators to congress to governors to the state level senate would be charged with treason and go to jail. Yup if separation fails jail time for the leaders of that.
Besides Northern California that votes red would be fighting against it to.

Go ahead leave the union. But don't forget to return all US military equipment and personnel.
You're on your own now!

I would suggest pulling the resources out, ahead of time. Or, at least beef up security.

They'd swiftly become a communist dictatorship, and very quickly people would find out that from each according to his means to each according to his needs or whatever would mean no work = no eat. Right now, they can afford to let the cage be gilded, but that all comes off once they have a stranglehold on power.

Where do you come up with this #? California gets a ton of water from the Colorado River. And with up to 22 million illegals they TAKE way more than they give in federal funding. Do you just make stuff up?

Why wait for Biden to lose? They can GTFO right now and take their burning cities, burning forests, and burning man with them.

Start throwing up the barricades and machine gun turrets on I-10, 15, 40, 80, 82, 84, 90 and the little roads too.

If WA were to secede from the USA, the whole Eastern side of WA would secede from WA, and join back to the USA.

In California, the Northern Californians would leave California and become the state of "Jefferson".

As for Oregon? I think they would just redraw the lines and make Portland part of Washington.

i live in Oregon.
it would be foolish to separate from the U.S.

not sure what to make of all this. i hope this is all just gibberish talk from our political leaders.

It wouldn't be the first foolish thing Kate Brown has done.

I'm still a bit tired of having to "specifically ask" to be given a straw when I buy a soft drink.

I don't believe DC would send troops to reverse secession. especially with a Republican President.

would be interesting to see how many US troops would refuse to shoot at their former fellow Americans.
I don't think military response would meet with public approval (not that that matters much in Washington)

All three of these states are "tyranny of the majority" situations, with the largest cities choosing on behalf of everyone in the state how things will be done, and the rural areas just trying to figure out how to deal with it.

If they secede from the country, then how are they going to tell the rural districts they can't secede from the state?

And they need those districts. That's where all the states' productivity comes from. There would be nobody to tax!!!
