Explain why anyone should get to break the law? I'm pretty sure there are plenty of laws that if only I break them, they aren't going to cause widespread chaos, but that's not the point, is it?

Why would I? I answered the question in which you make the most glaring assumption. To answer the rest would be for me to presume to know things that I don't know.

Look, to me this is worthy of a "tsk tsk". Two parties, whether implicitly or explicitly, agreed to cut corners and a third party, who appears to be a hypocrite herself, was offended enough to run to the news but not to prevent the appointment in the first place.

This is a convenient, yet transient locus of conservative outrage.

a reply to: DictionaryOfExcuses No, it’s a snapshot of the socialist dual caste system where those that govern reap special benefit over the peasant class. In this instance, Pelosi’s actions show how out of touch she is by prematurely exposing her assumption of privilege. It’s pleasing to see how she’s angered the people so close to the elections. Your transparent defense only strengthens the impact on public opinion. Please continue! The longer you keep the discussion alive, the more it helps the conservative cause.

If Pelosi's appointment - which was scheduled by a stylist renting a chair in the salon - was such a "slap in the face" that the salon owner immediately had to run off crying to play kiss & tell with Fox news, shouldn't they have simply used their authority to cancel the appointment? They are acting like they were forced to accomodate Pelosi. The real problem here is between the owner and the stylist who scheduled Pelosi.

Why did someone in her office call to schedule an appointment for her when everyone in that office (in flipping CONGRESS) should have known that it was illegal to even make that request?
Why didn't she herself admonish her staff for making the appointment when she is the SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE and should know it was illegal?
Why did she go there is she as SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE should have known it was illegal to do so and report the salon to authorities?
Why didn't she, while there illegally, WEAR HER MASK when she as SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE is on record stating as much?
Why is she above the law when she is on record stating that "No one is above the law"?

So please explain how Pelosi getting her hair done will spread the coronavirus?

I mean, that is the reason for the lock-down rules.

You seem to have lost sight of the reality in your efforts to dredge up some breaking of the rules.

I might point out about Trump's running large public meetings through lock-downs, too. And they DID spread the coronavirus, in a major way.

I'm not even going to comment on your post. But I'd like you to read it, then read it again, and see if you can spot any irony there.

What's the flash point of booze, Ahab... 170F?
I believe if Nancy is going to contribute to being as safely
embalmed as Brother and everyone else says... we might
have another international bluebottle incident with her
and that glowing Vidal Bassoon.
I say let the devil take the hindmost. Also not sure if
arrogance can be lumped in with ignorance unless we
vote her in a few more times. NOT. But don't quote me...

Are the lockdown orders laws? There are many ongoing legal challenges to the specifics of the orders and you have to remember that these aren't national orders, but are on a state by state, or even city by city, basis, and only on the grounds of declared local emergencies. Definitely the Washington orders have been ruled to be against the State Constitution.

I'm pretty sure there are plenty of laws that if only I break them, they aren't going to cause widespread chaos, but that's not the point, is it?

Laws are constantly being amended and reinterpreted - especially in the case of the US legal system. There is a difference between 'the letter of the law' and 'the intent behind the law'. The law isn't there as a hammer to randomly hit people with. There is a protective intention and purpose behind what the legal system is trying to achieve. It isn't an ideological war zone.

It sure seems like everyone everywhere is caught up and focused on the wrong thing here. Yes she got a hair cut in a salon when noone else is allowed. Yes she is Nancy Pelosi and she is using her position of power to do things the rest of the people can't. Yes this shows how their are different rules for those in power and they do think they are above us.

But, think about all of that for minute. Here we have a powerful, important, elite, person of power who is entitled and above the rest of us. This also means her and the rest of the ruling class would be using all precautions necessary, they would have more protection than the rest of us, and they would make sure that someone with her power, someone that important, would never be in a position to risk getting sick if there really was something to actually get sick from.

The majority of our ruling class are at risk individuals for age and health reasons and yet they are out there being caught doing things that they would never do if we were really in the midst of a deadly "pandemic". Pelosi and the rest of them would be wearing hazmat suits and hiding out in bunkers if there was really something going on. They would never risk getting sick, they are way to important to their agenda to risk it. And yet, there they are. That's what people should be focusing on and asking questions about. Instead, people are focusing on the haircut. One again, without even trying, they have managed to divert the attention from where it should be directed.

80 proof Vodka(40% alcohol) flash point is 79 F with an ignition source. 100% alcohol is 62 F with an ignition source. Absinthe is about 80% alcohol on average and is 68 F.

Please explain how responding directly to what others have posted, is somehow me "moving the goalposts". Surely I am following the thread of a topic through the debate.

Take for instance, my response here, directly to your post. But what did your previous post have to do with the OP, or with the post to which you were replying? Nada.
