For the last 15 years I have worked for one of the most progressive and successful First Nations in Canada

The topic of the OP is racism or the lack of it in The U.S.

Why have you bought Canada into it. Completely different subject.

Not a different subject unless you are looking at it through a he eyes of a white man. They don’t look at the border the same way as you do.

Both governments recognized this so...

“If you were born in Canada and have at least 50% Aboriginal blood, you have the right to enter the U.S. to live or work. This right is guaranteed by federal statute (8 U.S.C. §1359) and the federal court case Akins v. Saxbe, 380 F. Supp. 1210 (D.Me. 1974).“

“You have the right to:

Cross the U.S./Canadian border freely.
Live and work in the U.S.
Be eligible for public benefits, such as Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicare, Unemployment Benefits and other Public Assistance, provided you meet the appropriate agency guidelines.
Register for college or university in the United States as a "domestic student" rather than as a "foreign student" (with the appropriate fee adjustment).
You do not have to:

Be processed for an alien registration card (also known as a green card or Form I-551).
Obtain a work permit.
Register for the military.
The U.S. Government cannot:

Deport you.
Exclude you from entry.
Deny you services.”

ptla.org...

ETA: You brought up the Native Americans. I am just responding.

That's all very well, but the OP states he is Hispanic. Not Canadian, First Nation or Native American Indian.

Do you want to discuss issues of racism in The U.S. or not ?

Thankfully we have an assclown like yourself who doesn't even live in the the US to tell us how racist we all are.

You don't have to live in The U.S. to know it is a racist society.

America carries out " Apartheid " towards Native American Indians. Put them on their " Reservations " much like South Africa's " Apartheid Regime " did with black South Africans. They didn't call them reservations, but " Black Homelands "

Also many, many Black Americans say they live in a racist society. I have no reason to disbelieve them.

And all you Brits have enough time to disparage the US while all the while looking after your gyspsys, romas, and travellers, along with dealing the black racism in your large cities, and the legacy of the Empire.

Please, share your time management skills with the rest of us!

Would you like to make a comment on " The Racial Segregation Of Native American Indians " ?

Though not.

No, you “hoped not”!

LOL

I call that blinkered, and not wanting an open debate on an International Discussion Board.

Which ATS actually began in The U.K. and founded by a Brit by the way.

Everyone is more comfortable with their own race.
That will never change.
Tpb want in-fighting, not them fighting.
Pretty obvious stuff here.
The more wild theories going around is a group pushing this "learning" into society in order to add their group to the "protected" unquestioned groups, so they can continue to own all the banks and media, hence controlling society.
Hiding under the umbrella of minority protection, claiming racism/anti- semitism.
There was an audio floating around saying as much.

Don’t miss understand me

I am saying a lot of members of this site in my opinion are racists

I do not believe most/all Americans are racist. Most Americans I have met in person are decent folks. ATS from my perspective does not fairly represent most Americans.

What has the slave trade got to do with Native American Reservations ?

You are attempting a diversion. Badly.

Well you said this... "You don't have to live in The U.S. to know it is a racist society.

Also many, many Black Americans say they live in a racist society. I have no reason to disbelieve them.

What does American Indians have to do with racism today? Their Reservations are basically their own countries that came about after a war...you do know the whole world was divided up by war right?

Point to the laws, rules, legislation etc that is racist and we can fight it together.

Is this the part where I ask you if you've lived the actual experience of a cultural life in a country that was bitterly divided by a Civil War that has a lasting legacy even to this day? Otherwise, most anything you say on the topic of American racism is only so much Britsplaining.

Awww I still find it cute....

The arrogant thinking that only an American can comment on American issues.

I have no problem with discourse, however, some people just focus on one country as the source of all of our problems and that isn’t helpful.

The UK has been just as bad as the US and I am sure that people are striving to remediate those issues there as well.

I think part of what the OP is saying is that certain people go out of their way to devalue the progress and hard work that has taken place in order to keep a specific narrative alive.

Bye bye democrats!

ANY person or group that seeks to infringe on our rights (for any reason) needs to be held up as "THE ENEMY" of the ages

many thought my mom was black though she was fully Hispanic.

OP pretty much shoots down his own premise with this.

There are fully hispanic blacks.

The question is do you want to honestly discuss the existence of systemic racism currently in the USA?
Not personal racism, because that exists everywhere, including in your enlightened island utopia
Not past incidences of systemic racism, because they exist everywhere, including your enlightened island utopia
Not convoluted cases that can only be surmised by having such a warped perspective that only a few " enlightened" blokes like yourself are able to see it
I'm talking abut verifiable incidences of systemic racism that can be easily viewed and verified by data available to all
Please discuss this, because we poor Yanks are obviously blind to this.

An inclusive and cohesive society doesn't have " different countries within it "

So you are saying Native American Indians are not U.S. citizens because they live in their own country ?

I ask you again ... do you understand what it's like to live here? There are wide regional variances in all manner of things, and yet you like to lecture us as if we're a cultural monolith.

That's a bad as any stereotype.
