The problem with that is that it castigates anyone who believes in actual truths. For example, someone who believes their position is right and just because it supports the Constitution has been referred to as an extremist by the Left as recently as the Obama Adminsitration's "Domestic Terrorist" write up. That's a major issue considering the Constitution is a document based on actual truths.

As we live in a Constitutional Republic, the US Constitution defines it. Legally at least.
