LOS ANGELES (AP) — Actor Chadwick Boseman, who played Black icons Jackie Robinson and James Brown before finding fame as the regal Black Panther in the Marvel cinematic universe, died Friday of cancer, his representative said. He was 43.

Rip Chadwick Boseman aka Black Panther

Wow so young.
Colon cancer.

Life is short, everyone remember that..

Your thread will probably be moved to the lower-visibility "People" forum. I'm glad I saw it before that move occurred.

A relatively young person dying of colon cancer is rare. There must have been some other illnesses involved.

RIP

Our existence is such a volatile blip, in the incredibly grand expanse of time.

Whoa...

We have to cast a different Black Panther?

This isn't going to work.
They already screwed up by making Endgame and ruined any semblance of rationality ...

This is just another very bad sign the MCU may be in for a rough period.

Which is fine because IMO they butchered it.

I'll be fine watching Iron Man and Ragnarok over again thanks.

Btw Ragnarok was literally a golden work of art in the MCU.

No, I can't imagine a different person. He was made for that part.

Yeah he was totally perfect for it like Hemsworth was for his or Downey etc.

Im shocked because the last interviews I saw with Chad he looked vibrant and healthy...

That is so sad from evry thing I read he seemed like a good person and stardom didn't change him, and yes he was perfect for the role I hope the don't replace him either.

It could be murder too. It's plausible.

As for motive perhaps it's a subliminal way to drive up frustration stress etc and aid in keeping the riots going?

I dunno.

Seems more likely his doctors just couldn't figure it out.... They are just human like everyone else but their job is replete with mysterious stuff that if you don't unravel soon the clock will beat you...

For colon cancer, the overall 5-year survival rate for people is 63%.

If the cancer is diagnosed at a localized stage, the survival rate is 90%.

If the cancer has spread to surrounding tissues or organs and/or the regional lymph nodes, the 5-year survival rate is 71%.

If colon cancer has spread to distant parts of the body, the 5-year survival rate is 14%.

He was diagnosed with Stage III colon cancer in 2016. At that point there's only a 40% chance of curing it.

My wife just informed me of this, so of course I came here to see if it was true.
RIP, to Chadwick Boseman. A talented actor and genuine individual as I understand.

Per the folks talking about Marvel recasting, It would be a shame, but also an honor for whomever was cast.
I've heard whispering of rebranding the character of Shuri (Leticia Wright) as black panther for well over a year, so Marvel has a work around without a recast.

Regardless, my heart goes out to his family, friends, and fans, who I'm sure are mourning deeply at this moment.
I'm pretty broke up myself.
