at least they'll have a chance to recover
not locked up and drugged and dead by twenty.

An operation is something you recover from......yet you can NEVER get rid

of the scars.

But one can look at the scars and think , I may just live longer .
I speak from experience.

Seems not everyone thinks like that

Also from the research published in Psychological Medicine today, children who experienced multiple abuse are as much as five times higher to attempt suicide.
And as those people who experienced abuse as children get older, the risk of suicide attempts increases.

People not in contact with mental health clinicians were found to be at the highest level of risk.

The 68 studies were carried out across the world, producing about 262 thousand adults aged 18 years or older, who were exposed to childhood abuse and neglect.
This study conclusively gives us solid evidence that childhood abuse and neglect is associated with increased likelihood that they will be at risk of suicide as adults.

I understand how hard it is to keep your mind from going to dark places with these topics... but you have to know that
Them being found is better then the alternative...

Edit; “this was meant to be a reply to someone in particular but I dont know how to do much on mobile, so I suppose it will do as a standalone comment....
All these things that are hard, must, must be confronted. Life as we know it is at stake. This issue is all encompassing and we are only beginning to recognize the scope of it all.

One guy on facebook suggested people pool resources and buy Epstein island.

Then you take the pedophiles there and hunt them for sport.

For reality tv.

The trick is to learn how to turn those scars into a reminder of your own strength as opposed to a symbol of weakness.

You're talking from an adults point of view ....... You're forgetting they are

children.

Everyone has a story when you have lived their life, only then can you judge them.

Trick is a very light word for fixing a trauma.

I never know whether it is something to rejoice over or not because in

all probability the damage has already been done to those poor children

who will never be able to erase their memories.

In a way they are never going to fully recover........

It's murder to cause a child trauma. Because who she/he would have been
will never be.

"But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me,
it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck,
and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea."

Have just been listening to a discussion on TV regarding corvid and the way it is

impacting the mental health of children both on the infant and teen level.......

Many things including illness are a fact of life and as such they will have

to learn to deal with it
as people have done since time began.

However........

Stealing a childs innocence, doing unspeakable things to 'immature bodies

and minds' things they could not conceive of or understand,

trusting adults (because they know everything and would not betray

our immaturity in that we are to learn from them and put our trust in them)

And all the arm chair pseudo psychiatrist's can say on that kind of betrayal

is "Your scars will make you stronger" and "Get over it" etc....

WHAT DO THEY KNOW from their 'Safe Spaces'

New thread on ATS ......

Suicide......

Comments from people who have been there.....

Yes abuse is soooo easy to get over

Regardless, that's one of the main points of my post- that it doesn't matter how long ago the abuse happened.

She grew up had children had an apparently successful career, was loved by employees- it doesn't matter how far you run or how hard you hide... sh-t like this never leaves you. You can try to pretend all you want that nothing bad ever happened but, it'll catch up to you. I can almost guarantee that, from personal experience.

Then take it from someone who has been there...
You are never going to get over it with that attitude.
It will be a cancer, spreading in you until it consumes you.

In my experience there's no end to the healing. In other words, there's really no "getting over it."

I understand her brokenness. Nothing can take away the pain. This kind of abuse never leaves you and you're never really free of it... I have a long way to go myself, hopefully many years until old age battling this suffering.

I think I hear what you're saying. I have two sibs who were abused by an older cousin who was an alter boy and they have told me things. I don't like to write it or talk about because I don't want to be responsible for putting those thoughts or images in someone's head.

Humbly, I share a technique I have both been advised and read about. Using visualization to reconstruct the scene in the mind. Visual the scene but change so you are in charge. Cause pain, even murder IF appropriate. You are only allowed to do this once, plan it make it good and make some sort of little ritual...affirmation, spin three times and take a bath. Please forgive me if it sounds simplistic. Many blessings for healing. Wrap in an invisible rainbow

There are no thoughts or images you can put into anyone who has been abused's

head that is any worse than what has already been burned into their head.

But kudos for your concern.

Visualisation is the last thing the abused need, it is just what they are trying

to get out of their minds.

I often wonder how many of those who recommend techniques have been abused?

So they are not speaking from experience?.......

Everyone being different has to find their own way, there is no one way for 'one way

fits all'
