No. It was exasperated by the neck compression...otherwise he'd have kept walking down the street.

Point. Left alone, he wasn't to die that day or even maybe that year... that month.

Standing on his neck sorta sealed the deal....

He seemed capable of complying and chose not to.

Oh yeah he was claustrophobic. Why does no one care about that?

I could be reading this wrong, so correct me where necessary, but based on the link you shared all three medical examiners have concluded this was a homicide, two of which agreeing that:

His death was caused by the police subdual and restraint in the setting of severe hypertensive atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, and methamphetamine and fentanyl intoxication.

Okay, so he had a potentially fatal level of fentanyl in his system, but it appears from handwritten notes of the same meeting where it's claimed Andrew Baker (Chief Medical Examiner) said Floyd may have died anyway due to a "fatal level of fentanyl under normal circumstances", it was also written that Baker said "I am not saying this killed him".

Baker will probably have to clarify these seemingly conflicting statements in court in his own words, so we should be hesitant before making any conclusions based off notes people made of what he said. I'd rather hear an explanation from the horses mouth.

Yes, it does need to be read properly,
It is pretty clear that the overall consensus was that there was a homicide, that includes Andrew Baker's opinion....so it is a homicide.

It looks like the OP just ran with the suggestive headline.

The cop is charged with murder two.
Those charges need dropped.

I know they do.

Or just find them innocent when they go to court. That might be better for the country.

If the charges are dropped now, who knows what the mindless that are rioting will do.

That level of fentanyl is enough to create doubt for the jury when the cop is tried in court.
If the cop is acquitted, there will be more rioting.
If the cop is found guilty of a lesser charge, there will be more rioting.

Hell, there may be rioting even if the cop is found guilty of the most serious charge.

It doesn't take something bad happening to spark a riot in a major city... Chicago Bulls Championship Riots

Check it... their team won... so...

Rioting occurred throughout city, starting with people pouring out of bars on Division Street and destroying two taxicabs and dancing in the streets. The most serious violence occurred in the impoverished neighborhoods on the city's South and West Sides. Over 200 civilians and 95 police officers were injured, 61 police vehicles were damaged, over 1,000 arrests made and 347 stores were looted, mostly along Madison Street. No one was killed during the rioting, but a liquor store clerk was severely burnt when looters set fire to the store.

methamphetamine and fentanyl

And methamphetamine, don't forget that.

Anyone that knows anything about drugs, knows that is a bad combo. Many have died from it. With just normal doses of each.

The cops were still wrong and of course so was Floyd. But it looks like the cops are not murderers.

C'mon, it's all about balance, maaaaan!

But seriously. Yeah, bad combo. Most combos are.

This definitely doesn't look like an exoneration, but I could see it supporting more heavily toward Manslaughter than Murder.

When can we start passing this stuff around to other board members, since it's legal and has no repercussions?

Drugs good, cops bad. My body, my choice. /sarc

I'll get out of this thread before I'm banned.

This sort of talk by everyone here is what will get my city burning again. I'm done with this.

This is one of those "cant handle the truth" people I was talking about on page 1.

11,000 times a dose is what he had in his system. the man would had died later on with no help at all.

And a EMT does not a forensic specialist make.

If that guy was a fentynyl dealer, how many people's lives do you think have prematurely ended or have been #ed because of the products he sold? How many od's has he caused? Broken families? Pain suffering?

# drug dealers, they don't give a # about the people whose lives they destroy, they care about the money they make off them and such a piece of # drug to be selling. # him in all honesty, play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Ya, thats half the equation..right

The knee on the man’s neck didn’t help much.

Of course he was high.

But, did he deserve to die ?

Don't do drugs.

He was training the rookies. But that cop had 16 years experience and he was on the guys neck for 8 seconds. They may be rookies with him but they are trained - he had plenty of backup to get that guy in the squad car.

They tried for 10 minutes to get him into the car, he claimed he "couldn't breathe" in the car and was resisting the entire time, next.

If they couldn't get one guy in a car (on fentanyl of all things) in 10 minutes? They shouldn't be cops.

Did you watch the body cams, it's pretty clear they were trying to be nice to him and talk him into the car, they were OVERLY NICE.

Un-necessary death. RIP

I think there is a chance he may of been going into cardiac arrest in the car, why he said he couldn't breath.

What do you, in your experience think?

Are you implying within minutes, secs, hrs...he would have been dead anyway?

So let's hasten it? Nope.

That minute, that moment he was and would have been for an unknown amount of time alive and breathing.

"Hey Crack head! You gonna die soon so let's us help ya"!

Walk in my shoes....

Is a person guaranteed to die if you kneel on there Kneck ? Nope Cops do it all the time.

Is a person guaranteed to die if they take the Amount of Fentanyl Floyd took , Yep .

The one thing that matters is the Civil unrest in this country surrounding Floyds death , that is what matters and the possibility that its based on a lie.
