Karma points

You guys put way too much stock in karma points. It makes the entire exercise on this site a popularity contest. And creates class divides. I formally request my karma points be adjusted to zero please.

Whats life without common ground ? Karma points have always been a game and ATS has usually had great KAa-Tet although sometimes its ka-ka also.

It's those goofy things on the right that makes stupid people smart .

ATS has had its fair share of users who only post for magical meaningless internet points. Its all part of the dopamine algorithm that every other social media site or forum uses. They aren't going to stop any time soon.


I think it is a hinderance to all of social media but its doing exactly what it waa designed to do.

You created a public thread to lodge a complaint and make a request to adjust your account regarding what you feel is an unnecessary popularity metric?

Are you addressing the right target? Of all the stats figures, "karma" is the one that is most difficult to push up deliberately, because the relevant calculation includes the instruction "divide by the number of posts". If someone keeps writing reams of rubblish in the hope of improving their stats, their karma figure actualy goes down, for that reason.
It's quite a neat method of quality control.
