"Twerking" 11 yr old girls...

The world has really taken a step backwards when sexualized children is an acceptable thing.
This is a French movie with subtitles that Netflix will be airing in September.

The French poster is much different than the English poster too. The English version is very sexualized.

Somebody at Netflix needs to answer some questions.

www.independent.co.uk...

I just can't comprehend how anyone could make a movie about kids "dancing" in a way that only exists to be sexually provocative.

The sexualization of children has been going on for a while, but it’s now moving into the mainstream because, as we all know, the people in the entertainment industry have certain urges that they want normalized.

You can see similar normalization when people bring their kids to gay pride rally’s where adults are running around almost naked with depictions of genitalia everywhere. How or why anyone would expose a child to that is unimaginable. And don’t get me wrong I’m all for people being gay and being able to express pride in that if they choose but leave children out of it.

Welcome to the bottom of the slippery slope

Netflix is just catering to Americans they advertise the film in a different way abroad. Check the poster.

You should wish Netflix well. And we’re #1 ... in pedos human trafficking.

Netflix is ran by left leaners like yourself so they must be trying to appeal to you.

Netflix can't die fast enough in my opinion.

I"m going to argue for the sake of arguing.

It is the entire structure of repression world wide that is being exposed here. The repression of sexuality and it's basic impulses in a person who have undergone puberty.

What is puberty? I have always thought it was when our bodies mature to a level of fertile propagation of the species.
That means our bodies say, ''it's time to do it, so let's do it''.. This is the natural shift from childhood to adulthood.

Yes, we all know that in older times life expectancy was much shorter than it is now. Young women were coupled off to older males all the time, often because the tribe knew that they would be dead by 25.

But what we have today is an almost total repression of young adulthood. Bodies that change yet young adults being told to keep it in their pants. Not just for a month or a year but for sometimes up to a decade of repression until society tells you, because you now have the papers as permission to allow your body to do exactly what it was programed by nature to do. Have sex.

So maybe this film is about freedom. Maybe it is about overthrowing the Victorian illusion that young women are not sexual until given permission. Maybe it's about young women being offered the choice to know that the sexual inclinations given them by nature are not evil, are not bad.

What do you think. Have I made any case here at all?

PS. For me to watch this film would be pornographic.

I find your argument ridiculous. Today's society does anything BUT repress young peoples sexuality! They are having sex now in grade school thanks to this thinking!
My daughter began her periods when she was barely turned 11 so shes ready then right, if not encouraged she is being repressed! What a stupid idea!

I've raised a daughter that turns 18 next month.
I must say that I totally disagree with you.

Children should be nurtured not sexualized.

We have literally raised the smoking age to 21 because of protecting the youth but are lowering the sex threshold...

Makes no sense.

Sex in grade school? Your point is somewhat true I think. But it is also their bodies that are telling them to have sex and that is based on millions of years of biological impulse and not just a couple of thousand years of religious repression.

I remember way back 62 years when I was 11. We had to take dancing lessons with real girls. Every time the random partner exchange brought 11 year old Hilda to be my partner, the brushing of her already developed breasts against me
brought about physical reactions I had not anticipated. That wasn't social conditioning, that was biology. You know, pheromones and all.

Have you actually read the article you linked?

In an interview about the film, Doucouré told Cineuropa she came up with the concept after seeing "a group of young girls aged around 11 years old going up on stage and dancing in a very sensual way while wearing very revealing clothes". She said she was "shocked" and wondered if they were "aware of the image of sexual availability that they were projecting".

Screen Daily’s Fionnuala Halligan said Cuties is “explicitly designed to shock mature audiences into a contemplation of today’s destruction of innocence”.

The Hollywood Reporter's David Rooney also notes the film has a "critical view of a culture that steers impressionable young girls toward the hypersexualisation of their bodies".

I do agree with the criticism directed at Netflix for the English poster.

I agree entirely Blunt. Children should be nurtured and not sexualized. But is this film designed to sexualize young women for the sake of old men? Or is it a film designed to allow young women to understand their own sexuality.

MYself, I will never know as I will not be watching this film nor be paying much more attention to it once I have left this thread.

Yes I did.
What are the chances this film will have the opposite effect?

Unchecked sexual impulse is the biggest detriment to Man's spiritual, physical, and emotional health imo. Sex should only be engaged in for progeny. It's not about repression. It's about vanquishing lust from our thoughts by proper diet, meditation, and prayer. Unfortunately, us pitifully weak modern men have been conditioned to believe that indulging in sex is perfectly normal, and self restraint is only for monks and weirdos.

The media pushing sex on kids just speeds up Humanity's demise.

After reading the reviews at the end of the linked article it sounds like the movie was made to show how over sexualizing children is a problem, not really promoting it. But the US version of the poster does exactly that. I think the US version of the poster is in bad taste, without a doubt. I may watch the movie to see what side it REALLY pushes, idk. Definitely a lot of sick folks out there these days, that’s for sure.

To be fair, kids will imitate what they see adults doing on social media, youtube, ect...

MindBodySpirit has a good comment. The film is just trying to depict whats already happening.

I think you're being naive if you think netflix is being more provocative than what's already been happening for many years.

It's just the expansion and ease of access of the internet.

For me, i can't help but to think that this generation, TPTB, or whatever you want to call it, wants to "normalize" the sexualization of our children as much as possible so when all these elite pedos get busted, it won't look as bad.

That is exactly true and like the poster above said when we live by impulse where does it all go, greed and lust does not lead to a better society. Just ran across another one of these stories.

Describing a party on tour – attended by the upper echelon of the music business, including executive VPs of development, producers, power agents and international financiers – Bieber said he was encouraged to sexually abuse a young child who had been bought to the party for the sexual gratification of the industry elite.
“I didn’t want to do this. I really didn’t. They said this kid was drugged, it was horrible,” Bieber said, explaining that it was made clear to him that he would gain entry to the “business side of the industry” if he “joined the club” by passing the initiation rites.
“I wouldn’t just be a performer, I’d be a mogul. That path would open up for me, like it did for Jay-Z.”
“It’s the difference between being a millionaire and being a billionaire.”
But Bieber told the congregation that he couldn’t do it.

“To join the club I’d have to do bad things to this poor kid. But then I realized that even that wasn’t enough for them. I’d also have to kill this little child.”
Bieber said he had heard rumors about this type of initiation in the music industry, but he had not been confronted with it before.
“I got told they secretly film these parties. Once they’ve got you on video doing something like that, they own you.”
Bieber said his conscience is clear because he didn’t participate, but the fate of the drugged child is haunting him.
“They said this kid was raped by a few different guys. They said he was bleeding. I got out of there but I heard he died and that haunts me.”

Not much chance of that. I'm currently working on a Netflix funded series and the green light is flashing brightly for
a string of Movies and series for the next few years. Keeping the tamalewood media geeks busy for quite a while.

This virus deal has more people subscribing to Netflix than ever before and all streaming platforms for that matter. Don't be to upset it's just the media giving the proletariat what they want. Capitalism doing what it does best, profit!!!
I feel blessed to get a small slice of that pie. I'm at work now, on ATS reading all the submitted short stories. I've even created a character using a contraction of your screen name. "Bluone" for a pilot I hope to submit.
