I used them while in the usn.

Democrats (intentionally) forget to mention the president is more than an arms-length away from how we vote. And the Postal Service is not under the thumb of his control.

Ha, either something lit a fire under her ass, or Pelosi blinked first in the staring contest gamble. Probably the latter.

It'd be interesting to see a map of where mail really is taking longer, versus where it's not. I bet some of these areas are throwbacks to my 90's penpal days where a letter from me (in FL) to my penpal in Montana & vice versa actually took LONGER to be received than my penpal in the freaking Yukon had to wait for mine & vice versa. No damn joke, a little-ass bodunk town in the Yukon took less time for mail to go back and forth from than one of our own states.

The thing is, and this is where us using it need to step up and clarify, people are lumping existing absentee voting in with this universal approach. I ALREADY sent my absentee ballot in for MI, but as far as people are concerned, it's all universal and new and I must be part of the problem. They want to do away with both, because they don't understand they're different and one's been the gold standard for a LONG TIME NOW, even Trump uses it to vote. Yet, they still bitch and want to nix the entire concept without distinctions.

Those people are a serious problem. They're going to end up #ing us all over -- the military in particular -- if they get their way by throwing the baby (existing absentee voting) out with the bathwater (universal mail-in) because they're too stupid to understand the two aren't the same thing.

It is a state issue, is it not?
The states determine how voting is conducted, not the fed.
Good luck changing ANYTHING this late.
It will be one huge lawsuit.

But the dems can't actually win a fair election so it will be a crap show.
Look what they have done to seattle, portland, minneapolis, ect when they do not get their way.

Wait for the wailing and gnashing of teeth when trump is re elected.
It will be epic.

Yeah, it's way too late for changes right now, I definitely agree there. They should have just focused on absentee voting education (and some places have this year, I'll give 'em that much)

I've been saying for a while now that he's going to win again based on country-wide frustrations boiling over. People are sick of the terrorist group backing, support for BLM & Antifa is dropping like flies in a zapper, and people supporting the politicians who support that are changing their tunes. I'm watching friends of mine who are staunchly D of one degree or another doing abrupt 180's and actually RESEARCHING other parties' candidates. These are people who seldom lifted a finger in their lives to do that before, so if nothing else, all this crap is at least jump-starting some brains when it comes to what's worth backing and what isn't.

Joe Biden is running out of energy already. He announced that he's not going to do a cross-country tour after he accepts the nomination, as is traditionally done.

The "no malarkey" bus is all gassed up, with nowhere to go, lol.

Just revealed that Obama Biden had 14,000 mailboxes removed from the streets because Obama thought Republicans would cheat somehow.

Democrats always accuse the other side of what they themselves are guilty of.

Would it not be 'reasonable' to query the active social security database for a valid SS#, every time a payment was ready to be paid? Then, hit the database that has all the SS#'s of people who have died. These databases need to be very accurate for other financial issues. It is basic IT. We do billions of hits on many government databases every day, so it would certainly not be rocket science to implement or take any appreciable delay in the process. Just wow....

There was an extreme rush to get the Stimulus payments out to citizens.

When Obama did his stimulus, due to the faltering economy, it took 4 months, because the government conducted the database searches you describe.

Since Democrats crashed the economy suddenly in March, the auditing was bypassed this time.

The point remains that it takes INSIGNIFICANT time to hit a database of valid SS#'s ESPECIALLY with todays data retrieval technology. I know it for a fact, because I have created many of them. 4 Months is bull# and must have been some stupid excuse to delay it.

Well, to be honest, Obama had Democrat majorities in the house and the Senate. Yet they still fought him tooth and nail on everything except Obamacare.

His desire to pay out stimulus checks could have been one of those points of resistance.

So is this Russia gate 2.0? Phone gate 2.0? Porn star gate 2.0? Trump had two scoops of ice cream and everyone else had one gate 2.0?

So here is how this came about.

1. Obama in a pod cast said that Trump wants to kneecap the post office to effect the election. This started a fire storm in the media and the House.

2. The House wants to give the USPS 25 billion!!!! Yes that is right... lol As ridiculous as as it sounds.

3. 3 or 4 weeks ago the NYT, yes that NYT, had an article that Trump will give the USPS 10 billion in loans, so is that Trump kneecapping them?

4. It was reported that Trump is removing mail boxes to prevent people from voting by mail. Can I ask everyone here, when was the last time you used a blue box to mail something? For me, maybe 40 years or more. There is this thing called YOUR mail box, or an outgoing mail box in buildings etc...lol

Between 2011 to 2014 the USPS removed 16,000 of these blue boxes, they also reposition them to places where they are not being used to places where it is more convenient to use. This is a never ending event....

5. The big deal is the movement of the 7 days to 14 days as in 7 days to get it and 7 days to mail it compared to 7 days for the whole process which is not attainable. This is what the USPS recommends, and has recommended long before the new Postal General came into office. The NY election commission, yes that far left group...lol, Agreed this should be done.

So here we are the House wants to come back early to combat this latest Trump scandal... I'm sure 3 months of hearings would work...

Aren't even you all on the left getting tired of this crap?

So what happens if the USPS decides to go on strike since the election has been placed upon them without due compensation?

Man, would that ever be an October Surprise.

The big difference...and for those on the left who can not comprehend it....Is that you need to request an absentee ballot, compared to a mass mailing of 150 million ballots to whomever alive or dead, we don't know, at what address?

I'm all for absentee ballots as I was in the military for 28 years and most of the time that is what I used, BUT I needed to take steps to get one...

Mass mailings opens the door to mass voter fraud in the form of vote harvesting. This is where a political party goes door to door and "helps" people fill out their mass voting, HELL they will even help you vote maybe even pay you money to vote...see the problem here?

They do not know who is voting by absentee since it isn't mass mailing and so they don't really know who to go to for harvesting.

Recently this was discovered at the rep level from a republican, so it can go both ways, but with the liberal "grass roots" who do you think will take advantage of this.

Since it is both sides, CA lost 4 red seats due to mail ins that just happened to be heavily democrat, areas in CA that are red...yes there are areas red in CA. In the four cases the Republicans won, but late mail ins changed it..Does anyone really think it was because liberals in red areas like to vote by mail more than those old republicans that use walkers...lol

BTW TRUMP IS IN FAVOR OF ABSENTEE VOTING!

That would be like the ATC strike scenario. Government employees are prohibited from striking in a situation that would take down needed infrastructure.

It would be a hairy situation, for sure.

My wife who passed in 2018 received a mail in ballot. I will not be voting for her how many others received ballots for dead relatives? Hopefully they will tear them up like I did. But I doubt it.

Did you receive a $2,400 Stimulus deposit this year? There was a lot of that happening, due to recently deceased spouses still being on the IRS list of taxpayers.

Both of these would be the fault of the federal government and therefore Trump. I thought he was going to drain the swamp and clean up all the failed bureaucracy? Instead he's tweeting about how there isn't enough water pressure for his hair while Rome burns.

A staunch Trump supporter and major fundraiser for his campaign is now in charge of the post office. A person who also holds large amounts of stock in independent shippers (including Amazon) who are in direct competition of the post office.

DeJoy is a well know Trump supporter so acting like he isn't going to implement Trumps will in the post office is crazy. That's how business and politics work. You appoint your allies and they do what you want.

Not only that, we have someone in charge of the PO who has a fanatical interest in the post office failing and increasing income for PO competitors.

Yea, nothing shady there at all!!!! LMFAO!

do people realize that if a voter does NOT vote in 2 elections in a row a notice is sent..if they do NOT reply they are removed from the voter rolls.... that was WHAT happened so many many were removed NOT BECAUSE THEY WERE DECEASED or illegal but of course trump lied and said they were removed because they were all illegal voters .

.and if someone shows up at a voting place to vote and their name is not in the book to sign.....we give them a ballot with a pink envelope instead of the usual color,

and the book that voters sign... the people whose names is not on our list, we put their name in the very back of the book.......ballots are counted after the vote closes, much match the numbers.......pink in one container locked with zip tie the pink ones go to headquarters and someone double checks them to see why those names were not listed......the other ballots are in the other zip locked container someone picks them up and takes them to headquarters (yes I am speaking from first hand experience working at a voting station here in the usa)

Pelosi is lucky if the San Francisco USPS dead-letter department doesn't get overloaded when everybody starts mailing out 100 million ballots 😆

Wasn't California forced to remove over 1,000,000 deceased former voters from the list of eligible voters last year?

No trumps man put a time limit on casing mail. Our limit is 25 minutes to case letters flats and small parcels. We are to leave everything else we don't get to behind minus parcels. Before this we got fair time to case 8 flats a minute 18 letters a minute. Also trucks are to leave distribution no matter what is ready at the same time everyday.

He came in to save money. Granted he's doing it, and some of the changes are smart.
