Picard could have been so good. In the end, instead of replacing Picard with an android, they should have used that fragment of Data to repair the problem with Picards brain, replacing the dysfunctional part with a positronic neural net that connects to the rest of his functioning brain.

Picard could have become the new life that he had been looking for, he could have gone on to sire a child that would be yet another new form of life and would save the Picard family line.

As a fan of the serious I can truly say that was both funny and very disturbing, I think it may even give me nightmares.
