There are jobs available. If there aren't, that is another story. But paying people to sit on their ass while the nuts and bolts of US commerce grind to a halt as the government outcompetes for bodies is ridiculous.

Trump wants to give those lazy asses $400 a week. With $100 coming from the state. Where's that $100 supposed to come from? Unicorn pee?

Sounds like the states need to lift the restrictions and get people back to work then, doesn't it?

That is the other option you aren't mentioning...negating the need by putting people back to work.

In Texas, if you declne to return, even in a lesser position, you can lose your unemployment. If you can work, you should be expected to work. No animal on earth gets a free ride, although humans like to pretend they can.

How about from the same place as those wonderfully underfunded state pensions...

Illinois is $130 billion in the whole without trumps input.

Besides... The feds are borrowing the money already so why does it matter who's doing the borrowing..

That was a post about COLA (Cost of Living Allowance).

However, if you did not work you can collect your spouses benefits....right? Even handicapped people can get SSI if they never worked. You do know that right...maybe you can qualify!

States can't do deficit spending. That $100 would seem to have to be cash. Pensions? That's later, no worries.

Actually, Congress did too. Trump just did it instead of arguing over funds for defaulted cities...and gave the money directly to the people.

Then why did you say this:

How about instead you point out who did NOTHING for those getting SSI

This guy could cure cancer and you would have people whinging about it and using it as evidence of his Nazism, disregard for the sick etc.

So he's applying additional can to those earning $100k+ and removing pay roll tax for those below and yet people have a problem with this.

Just shows the programming is working a treat.

It's because Trump is actually offering a solution and everyone seems to be staining their shorts over it.

It's called 'Leadership'.

Wheres he gone?

Trump then doesn't go back to the White House, turns out the staff came out to see him off before he left for Cleveland because nobody's going to be seeing him for awhile, and then he's supposedly left Cleveland for his Bedminster resort in NJ.
While Trump was appearing in Cleveland yesterday, this gets filed by the DOJ, to seize ASSETS PrivatBank purchased with it's laundered money in Kentucky and Texas.

threadreaderapp.com...

Very interesting thanks for sharing. Does he commonly go there?

Let's wait and see what happens next.

Yet many are in debt by billions...

Guess they better figure it out.

They could go bankrupt, that should do wonders for our economy!

Yes. They can sell bonds. Good way to kick the can. For a while. Trouble is, the more bonds they sell, the less people are willing to buy.

Some of them are already close and have no way to fund their debts.

Besides.. The state's do not have to make of the $200 shortfall ...

Because for those years I listed the Obama Administration did not raise the amount people got. Horrible. Especially after all of the bailouts. Something we are not seeing here.

The ARRA signed by O also did the same thing Trump is doing, except less, to stimulate the economy.

Did he say anything about helping the schools with reopening safely? I mean, many districts dont have the resources needed to provide proper ventilation, increase space so they can reduce class size, have their own testing, ect. And, parents cant go back to work if they dont have safe schools and daycare.

That's McConnell's best plan.

I wonder what happens to those bonds that people bought.

Nah not that I have seen but there should be! If the Q crowd are to be believed this (going to a secure location while arrests start to happen) is one of the sign posts to watch for. We shall see.

Democrats will have trouble getting their voters to see the difference between scrambled eggs and poached eggs.

They're getting cornered by their own BS 🤣
