They took too long and no one is going to argue this. While waiting on the Heroes Act in the House the president today signed an EO to help those affected by COVID-19.

Link

“The very important thing is that people want it and the people needed, actually,” Trump said, noting that Republicans and Democrats in Congress could not reach a deal.

There is even talk that he may not want to bring back income taxes for Payroll. Also included are the following...

The president also said he would provide a federal unemployment enhancement of $400 per week, but that states would pay for 25 percent of the cost. He also signed a moratorium on evictions and student loan payment deferments.

There is also talk about an EO for existing conditions. The mandate is gone and the only talking point was twisting the pre-existing argument. If he does that also it shows no need for OCare.

This will make a lot of people..as well as voters..happy.

So, where is that 25% supposed to come from? State unemployment taxes? That's good for employers? State income taxes?

States can't do deficit spending.

You are just the happiest dude on the planet Phagey...LOL, Wait till the pre-existing conditions comes out and the Progressives try to kill that.

This is a solution. This is someone doing something about it and also putting the burden on states.

"If we get sued, it's [from] somebody that doesn't want people to get money," Trump said. "And that's not going to be a very popular thing."

This is good news for the country not a kudo for how did it. It should have been done weeks ago.

How is he gonna pay for unemployment with no payroll taxes?
By the way.. he says he is gonna make the payroll tax cut permanent. So, no more social security taxes. Ya know what happens when the social security tax collected doesnt cover the amount needed to pay out current beneficiaries? No, they dont just stop paying out. They start calling on the govt to pay up on the ious till all the ious are paid back. Unless, of course the govt decides to default on that debt.. which would sink our credit rating!

I'll wait.

It's also an additional incentive for states to encourage businesses to open since it's the states that closed them in the first place.

It's no payroll taxes for those making under 100,000. I thought you'd be applauding the wealthier paying and those making less benefitting.

So, the rates are going up for the $100k club, to cover the difference?
Not sure he can do that.

Then maybe DC can learn to spend less for once.

The wealthier paying MORE.. enough more to make up for all those who are no longer paying?
Wont they revolt, move to far away lands?

So, reduce medicare and social security benefits (that's what payroll taxes cover, almost).

Yeah. Right.

If that's where your strawman wants to make cuts, then go ahead.

So now you leftists want everyone paying less taxes? Since when?

Might want to tell your pal Biden.

Payroll taxes fund social security and medicare, that's it. Cut that revenue and you're going to have to either cut the benefits or get the revenue from someplace else.

This guy could cure cancer and you would have people whinging about it and using it as evidence of his Nazism, disregard for the sick etc.

So he's applying additional tax to those earning $100k+ and removing pay roll tax for those below and yet people have a problem with this.

Just shows the programming is working a treat.

I wish they would make up their minds.
Now it’s a bad thing for them because Trump suggests it?
This back and forth is making my head spin.
